Should I wear my hair down or pulled up for the day of my surgery? I'm asking not about style but comfort and practicality.

Pull it back in a ponytail or whatever. Keep it out of your face. You'll have an oxygen line to your nose for the first day at least.

Try French braid or reg. Braid of hair not long enough bring scrunchies so after surgery you can put up. You tend to be warm from pain meds. At least I get pretty hot period. So having hair up does help.

Most hospitals usually don't allow hair ties into the operating room and will make you take them out and put them with your personal belongings. They put a surgical cap on your head and they put your hair into that anyway. But on that note, definitely bring at least one with you, just in case. It drives me crazy having my hair down when I'm hot...

I want to cut my hair short but I'll wait until after surgery so I can wear braids in the hospital.

Having worked in an OR you will not be able to wear the hair tie or elastic if it has any metal on it. For the same reason that you cannot wear jewelry or anything else metal. So with that being said you can wear a rubberband or a tie without metal but best to just wear it "twisted" back for the surgery in the cap....I am hoping my hair is the least of my worries. Hope that helps

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
