Can i eat pureed food early if its doesnt yrt my stomach?

Okay if someone tells me to ask my dr I'm gonna be annoyed because I know but I always ask here first. So far my new stomach can handle everything I've tried. I do realize fluids are a lot different then puréed foods but I just thought I'd ask. I'm starving. I drink my fluid and then get hungry like 15-20 min later. If I can handle puréed food, will it hurt my sleeve? I'll be 2 weeks tomorrow.

Well yes it could. I wasn't on pureed until week 3 but I still had a protein shake. You can do this, just wait until you are supposed to have pureed. Make sure too that you do puree your food, it really isn't that bad use canned chicken/ham/turkey, cottage cheese, scrambled egg these are good.

My doctor said no starting the phases early. Your stomach is still healing.

I say it's to early and just because it doesn't hurt going down doesn't mean your stomach is healed enough..

Till week 3? Didn't you have dr. Garcia? Dr. Valesco ( I don't know how to spell her name) told me 1week on clear liquid 1 week on full liquid then start puréed for 1 week then start solids. Which technically for me would be Tuesday to start puréed but the paper work says day 17 which would be Friday. I don't know if I should do the paper work or what dr valesco told me to do... What are your thoughts on that?

Okay thank you

I was sleeved same day as you. My dr cleared me for purée this Monday (tomorrow) which would be 3 weeks. But I have been eating purée about 2 days already.

I don't think I know how to calculate my post op time. How is it 3 weeks??

Day 5 I can start soft food and purée. And 22-28 soft -regular foods thank god not 3 weeks of liquid

I'm in the same boat as you. But I don't think I'm losing weight fast enough, and I feel hungry all the time. I'm two weeks post op and I've only lost 10 lbs so far ????

At two weeks out, your body is not in the losing stage. Your body is healing at this point. You are still pretty swollen and still holding most of the fluids that you received through the IV. Be patient, once you turn the corner and start eating a little more, the weight loss is going to hit you :)

Girl, I know exactly how you feel. I'm 2 and a half weeks out and I've only lost 14 pounds. I'm always always starving and nothing makes me full. Protein shakes are too sweet along with yogurt and sf pudding. I need some dang salt lol. My purée stage started Tuesday, so far it's not going well. I think I may just go back to liquids for awhile. The only thing I can eat without making me feel like crap other than liquid is babybel cheese. I hope you start feeling better. Everyone says this is when it's the hardest so hopefully in a few weeks we will start feeling better :))

I feel the same way. I am 4 weeks post op and hungry all the time. I thought that was going away. This is frustrating. I see myself eating all the time. But i know the amounts are very small

You guys are suffering from head hunger. It feels so real, but it's not. And liquids will not make you feel full. Once you start on solid foods, believe me the feeling of fullness will come very quickly and easily. Until you get to that point, yeah it's tough. But just think how skinny you're going to be this time next year. It will make it all worth while.

And for those of you thinking you're not losing fast enough....SMH!!! 10 pounds in 2 weeks....that's fast enough. Don't compare your numbers to other people's losses. The weight will come off if you follow the plan. Be strong and soon this tough time will be a distant memory.
