A question about dry heaves

Recommended Posts

Last night I had a bad experience with a sugar free orange Popsicle. I had one of the types on a stick (all the others had been in the clear skinny plastic tubes) anyway about 10 min later I told my husband I felt sick. And OMG was I sick. I retched & dry heaved for over 5 minutes straight. I would try to catch my breath and another wave of gut wrenching dry heaves would hit me. I had no control at all. I finally threw up a thick, slimy glob of foamy mucus. My entire body hurts today from straining so much.

What causes those dry heaves and why?

I have had this a few times and it happens when I eat too fast... mainly in transition from liquids to soft foods. It is nasty and yes you have absolutley no control. Make sure to breath in and out of your nose ..it helps ( not through your mouth) I had it happen in front of a client after I had a light lunch I brought while traveling. Can I say ...Awkward!?

I'm going from Clear Liquids to creamy foods right now. And it has been tough. food makes me sick to smell it, I'm having trouble drinking the Protein Shakes. None taste good at all. Even the 3 that I liked cause me to gag.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
