And I have gone from a size 22 to a 14 and I still feel fat. I'm sorry I am not complaining but want to know when my mind will see what everyone else sees.

I'm not sure we ever will...

I'm still not familiar with this smaller body and I definitely do not see myself as small yet I am told I am

I think it will take some time

You've done really well!! Congrats on the great weight loss!

I can totally relate. I am down 130 pounds and barely see the difference when I look in the mirror. Or perhaps I just don't want to think about how big I was before! Either way - I am thankful that my weight loss has slowed down the last two months as I adjust. I still have 67 pounds to go to get to my goal, but I've had a huge change and I want this to be forever so the "stall" as some call it is to me a gently, soulful, re-adjust and healing pause. I know I will start loosing again as my body does it's thing!

I am super proud of you! Enjoy the size 14 and your new body. Relax into it and just try to live one day at a time. You have years ahead of you (God willing) to enjoy this new, healthy body of yours!!!! Yeah! Way to go!

I feel exactly the same way. I am down 60 pounds and don't really feel like I have lost much. Other people see me around town and say "you look great!" BUT I just don't see it like everyone else does. I agree that it will take some time to adjust to a new self image of ourselves. Great job so far - keep up the great work!

I know y'all say that you look in the mirror and don't notice the weight loss the way that others see it on you...I think the more important thing to focus on--whether than dress size or the way you see yourself in the mirror--is how you feel physically...do you feel healthier? More energy? Able to do more? That is what I want--to be healthier, control my diabetes and hypertension...be able to exercise like healthy people...sure looking nicer in clothes and having others notice will be a nice "extra" but it surely isn't the reason I am subjecting myself to WLS

I believe you will have amazing results!

I'm not sure the science behind this sleeve but the last time I had to have insulin was two days after surgery!

My levels have been perfect ever since!

I stopped my blood pressure meds a week out

You will be so happy and healthy!

It seriously saved my life!

I do feel so much better. I have become more active, health is better and feel like my old self from my younger years. I do believe that one day I will see it all as everyone else does. I debated saying anything on here but I am glad that I did. My friends and coworkers don't understand my thoughts on this but they were never in the position I was in.

Thank you all so much. The support from this group is really what I needed

It is good to be reminded of my non scale victories, NSV's, search for that forum & you might get excited. I go back and forth on "seeing how good I look". Sometimes I am amazed at my shrinking size but I still look horrible at my thighs when I sit down. I have recently remembered, my thighs have always been my "trouble spot". I had literally forgot since it has been 30 years since I have been this weight.

So I have said to myself that I am going to start loving my body parts regardless, or flat out love life, be happy regardless of my thighs. I even mantra, I am grateful to have my two legs at all. I take it as far as thinking about a situation where a person went to an airs how w/ both legs, a plane crashed and the person left with one leg. I know I sound like a nut but any way I can get it in my thick skull that I am a like able, fun person with more value than my looks, I am progressing.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
