Don't be afraid. I literally remember going into the OR and waking up in recovery. All seemed like one minute:) think positive thoughts. Best to you.

I'm scheduled for April 30. I start my two-week pre-op diet tomorrow. I am so ready to make this change in my life.

I didn't do a 2 week pre-op. I just cut down what I ate little by little. 4 days before soft foods like mashed potatoes then with 2 days left liquids and nothing else to eat or drink the night of the surgery. I lost 20 pounds before my surgery in 3 weeks.

I started my pre-op diet today, and so far so good. I was nervous before, and I have decided to just do everything as directed. Once I got a new perspective, I am felling pretty optimistic about the pre-op diet, especially because this means I am that much closer to my surgery!

Hey April Sleevers (My new family)!

I am having revision surgery from the lap band to the sleeve. Yesterday I went to have my lab work done in preparation for my surgery on the 30th of April. When I got on the scale my heart almost dropped when the scale read 313. I had maintained 285 for nearly 4 years since my last fill. Then I had a reality check, all of the solution had been removed from my band almost 2 months ago. With that being said I got to enjoy what I had not been able to enjoy for the last 4 years. It had been so long since I heard my stomach growl that when it growled I ate. I ate until I was full. Now that I have had my fill of all the good things I missed I am mentally prepared to start this new journey of my life. I want to thank each and everyone of you for your post. This site has been so helpful and Iook forward everyday to the new post. The days are coming pretty fast and I must say I am excited. I promise to keep you guys posted on my success, please continue to make post and provide all of the great advice. Good luck to all future sleevers and those who have already been sleeved.

FYI..Any suggestions of any specific kinds of Protein I need to get in preparation for after surgery? Talk to you soon!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
