January Bandsters???

Recommended Posts

well I did it and live to tell about it..I was banded and home by 11 oclock..my left side shoulder and chest are just now starting to hurt..thank god for the heating pad...I have had 2 cups of broth, a Jello, 1 cup of apple juice and a Protein water...I am going back to bed, but wanted to check in...not looking forward to a gassy night but o well..luv ya...

Hi TracyV! Glad to hear that all went well. I am doing pretty good. It's just the gas that has been a real killer. I was awake from 9:30 til about 3:00 in awful pain from the gas. Then it simmered down and I was able to sleep for a few hours on my side with my hot pad. It is a little better today. I am trying to get my liquids in. It is very hard though. Hope you're feeling better today-Gigi:)

Hello all. Sorry I have been MIA. I get so busy at work and I was getting frustrated with my whole band situation for a while too; my scale wasn't moving and I was hungry ALL THE TIME. I finally spoke to my dietician who moved me up to the next stage in the diet a few days earlier, so I am able to eat a little more food. Needless to say that has helped A LOT and I have lost 2 more pounds this week. I also bought a great cookbook, which lets me add a lot of options into my diet. And finally got the Magic Bullet, which makes me want to puree everything in my house. I went to my first support group, it was pretty good. I am scheduled for my first fill on Wednesday, thank God.

I apologize to everyone who was trying to email me for addition to the list. I did it last night. Let me know if I missed anyone...I swear I will be more attentive. I don't have time to catch up, but I hope everyone is doing well. I will be in and out more often now. Good luck!!!!

Well, tomorrow is all Clear Liquids, for one day prior to surgery. Tonight my father is cooking for me; lobster tail and filet mignon from Omaha Steaks. Mom opened a bottle of Korbel to reflect my 'Going, Going, Gone' attitude with the weight.

I know compared to many of you who have had a long pre op diet; this seems like non-sense. But regardless, tomorrow is going to be difficult for me. No solids, and the day before surgery. Yikes. Nerves are creeping in for sure. I definately couldn't be any more ready than I am now. I am just wanting to be healthy. I've packed my overnight back for the hospital, got my Rx's together and I think that's it. I'll be sure to check in tomorrow. Alot 'busy' stuff planned to keep me going and the mind occupied. I'm hoping I sleep LATE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know exactly how you feel- I loved getting in a last meal. yours was much better than mine but still... it felt important to me :rose:

Post surgery, did you all count your Jello toward your liquids? My 'head hunger' is here today. By no means am I physically hungry; no way. But this is my first day home alone, and I'm 'bored'. Keep going to the fridge. Jello is the only thing I'm allowed. And tonight, after my first 48 hours, I can add a Protein Shake. I'm drinking so slowly though...it's crazy. Barely made 50oz yesterday, day 1. Today its slower, since the gas pains are here now.

I am going to the potty, so at least I know I'm not dehydrating. I was told to aim for going pee three times a day; and I'm in check with that.

Wow...this is so emotional. Especially today. My Dad is too cute, i have to start thinking like a thin person is what he told me. Yup, I guess so!!!

Hi! How are you? I am also 2 days post band. I have no appetite whatsoever. I am having a hard time getting my liquids in. I've only had about 16 oz in today. Every time I drink, it seems that I get gas pains. Anyway, I can't wait til the gas pains are gone. Gigi:)

My goal today is to get some type of exercise in.

How bout you?

I'm not planning on exercising until my incisions have healed and the sutures have dissolved. Getting sutures sweaty is not a good idea. You're lucky you had the glue.

My goal for today is not to overeat. I lost control at 10 pm last night and ate about 800 calories worth of cheese. So I'm trying to be especially good for the next few days to make up for it. I'm so anxious for a fill. I really need some restriction soon or I'm going to start gaining weight.

What about a 0 carb Protein Shake? nectar Protein is 0 carbs and 23 grams of protein. Try drinking a glass of Water first.

I did 1 hour on my elyptical machine!!!

That makes 2 times this week!!!

One day at a time.

I am also going to give myself a choice of what activity I am going to do everyday:

1. walk around the block

2. Elyptical at home

3. Gym

4. Dance video workout

I tell myself I am just getting on for 15 minutes, but end up staying on!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
