Hey Peri,

Yes, it is Matt B. I met you at your mom's once and out at WS Ranch. It's been several years ago. I can't believe Bo is already in HS!

Just got back from my 2nd. appointment after surgery...it was with Dr. H....first time i met him. I liked him alot. He was very nice and informative. He said i was doing great and my weight loss was great too. He didn't do a fill. I really didn't feel like i needed one. My restriction is fine and i'm not really hungry. Overall I had a good appointment. I will be going to the meeting tonight...my first one. I didn't talk to mrs. betty....does anyone know how often i talk to her?

I don't talk much to Miss Betty unless it's about nutrition issues. She will probably be at the mtg tonight. This will be my 2nd mtg in TK, we had a mtg near where we lived, but the attendance was low, so it has been put on hold until.

I like Dr. K as well. It is great that you have restriction, I am hoping that I am at my "sweet spot" now. I saw Dr. H this morning and he also told me that I needed some cardio exercise (I was only walking) cause it can add muslce weight. He also said that when I walk try using hand weights to help. I have to step up that a bit. I'm not where I sholud be, but I am pleased that 50 lbs are behind me and I have 37 left. I feel when school starts it will be better for me cause I won't be tempted to graze as much.

Congratulations on your weight loss, Aligmamma.:)

Hey all, once again, I missed the meeting last night. And to make it worse, it was my aunt (husband's aunt) that spoke last night. She has been a real help to me. I guess, I am not going to be able to to go until next year. I am starting to take classes at the college and they will be on Mon. night. Only night I could do it. Does anyone know where the other meeting is, and when? I may have to try and go there. CAN NOT wait until next week, when I go back, hope to get my second fill. Have a good day all

Addy, try www.noscales.com

It is Dr. H & K's website.

I think there are mtgs in Idabel, OK, but I'm not sure what Monday.

Your aunt was very helpful and such a inspiration to me last night.

After seeing the before pictures and then actually seeing her in person,

makes me try harder to lose this rest of my weight.

Good morning all,

Hippmom, sorry that you got mixed up about the day. We would have loved to have you and Lisa with us. Maybe next month, we can do it.:)

Yep, school was official (for staff) yesterday, the students will start 8/25. I don't know how we are going to make it though, A/C is out in my room :ohmy:and a few more others and then some of the rooms were flooded. Maybe we should start after Labor Day.

Keep cleaning those teeth. I need to come see you and get that "glow smile". LOL

Have you heard from Lisa? I hope that she is staying in the box.:)

Hi all, went to dr. yesterday, got my second fill. Dr. K did it, and was able to get it the first time,, no hospital visit or bruises.

I also lost 7lbs. since the last visit. Seems slow till I look back, 7lbs. in a little over a month, about a lb. a week. Tried every diet, didn't do that consistantly before.

Hoping that 2 is a charm.

Hope you all have a good week.

Good morning everyone,

Good morning Hippmom,

Yes, the board has been quiet lately. Guess everyone is trying to stay in the box, keep dry and mow the lawn.

Have you heard from Lisa? I'm worried about her, I hope all is well.

Lou Ann is fine, loving her job. I miss her, but I'm okay cause we get to chat during the ride to the mtg. Are you going next month? Just look at your ticker, it's going down, down, down. LOL

I hope that I have lost some weight, I have good restriction in the morning and around 7 in the evening, but in between I have to use will power. I hope that it will get a little tighter.

Will school has started and I know EVERY parent out there is doing the "happy dance" and asking how long does it last. LOL

glo

lisa was doing ok the last i heard from her, just busy with tanner and school and football. she is looking for a job too. i think she is a little burned out with the band and board!!! but i think we all go through that esp. when the weight is slow to come off.. but as i have said before we just hae to hang in there and keep working and the weight will go (all be it slowly but it does go) i am a testament to that. finally after 2 years my ticker is going down at a good clip!!! i am just 9 lbs short of my goal which is a goal i thought i could get to, but i need to add 20lbs to that goal. i will worry about that when i get to my first goal though!!!

Good morning everyone,

I understand about the (slow) weight loss. I made my one year this month and had only lost 50 lbs. but I have to thank God that it was 50 lost and not 50 gained. I haven't been able to exercise much this week, and I need to get the strenght training, but I did it last week (Thursday) and I couldn't even hold my arm up Friday morning. I was soooo sick Saturday morning I didn't have the energy to hardly breath. LOL

I called a coach and he said that it would be okay, just out of shape and it took all my energy (duh:rolleyes:) so continue it. I will try something this evening.

Lisa, if you are reading this, ((((hugs)))))). Hope Tanner got off to a good start.

I hope that I'm at my sweet spot. I've had 8 fills. LOL

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
