Texarkana Bandsters

Hello everyone,

I got a small fill today. I even lost 3 pounds. I thought 4 but, I'm pleased with the 3.

To everyone that feel they are too tight, Dr. K informed me today that they will be out of the office for 5 days starting Wed. So you need to get in by tomorrow.

I really worked my butt off for the 3 lbs. I am going to work my butt off for the last 41. I hope by December I will be at goal.

Lisa, I did ask about after a yr, what about the appts. and Dr K said every three months.

I also asked if I had "lipo" would that help my "apron" and she said yes.

I am going to look into that because I need to get a heria repaired, so if I can get the money for the Lipo by the time I can get the heria fixed, I will.

I am trying to stay in the box. I went to Six flags Friday and I did real good with my eating, with the heat I had a zillion bottles of Water.

Hello everyone! I haven't posted in a good while. I even had one of those notices from Lapband that was over 30 days. Just seems like I have been so busy this summer. I have missed hearing from all you guys. Welcome to all you newcomers!

Lisa, I have read back a page or two and I take it you got your new house and you're all settled in. I am happy for you. That was a long time comming. The rest of you guys seem to be doing very well for the most part. I'm not losing, not gaining. I have an appointment at the end of the month to see Dr. K or Dr. H. I never know which. Don't know if I'll get a fill or not. I missed the last meeting. Did anyone go and if so what went on? I think it was Susan that challenged me to the 75# pin mark. Don't think I'm a pound closer, so not to worry.lol. Take care everyone.

WOW! So tickled to see people from Texarkana on here. I had my surgery on June 6, 08. Dr. Heiker at Wadley. I am due for my first fill July 8.

How are the fills?? hurt?? I am nervous, but looking forward to it.

Thanks for the advice to start right and stay that way. Right now I am just doing the don't drink for an hour and that is taking SOME getting use to. I drink alot while I eat. I reached for my "not there" Water about 20x while I was eating lunch.

With God's help, I am just beginning the journey of a lifetime, and I can't wait.

Welcome Addy!

You're surgery was exactly 1 year after mine! Congratulations!

The fills don't hurt, unless you have to get poked twice, and then it's just a little sting. Don't be nervous.

Just follow the doctor's orders and you'll do great!

Thank you so much, that is so neat that your anniversary is the same as mine. I actually live in Genoa and have a Fouke address. It is all so confusing so I just say Texarkana, LOL. It is easier. So how neat that you are practically my neighbor. I will be interested to pick your brain. I have eaten some stuff I probably shouldn't have, nothing hard, but I have experimented with a few foods, esp. when we were on vacation last week, and VERY few choices eating out in that city. I realized last night that I WANT to stay in the box!! I did not do this to experiment. I was with family and my aunt had it 3 yrs ago and she has lost over 200lbs. She was encouraging me to try different things, and I was able to keep them down with no problem, BUT, I have been terrified of stretching my pouch or slipping. I asked Ms. Betty if I could have an x-ray to see if it was still in place. She just smiled and said no, that I would KNOW if it had slipped or stretched. I sure hope so, I don't want to mess this up for anything. SO, I am going a little backwards for me and sticking with the week 3 diet, tomorrow I start keeping up with calories and Protein. I have been trying for the last two days, but I don't know how to get enough in without eating wrong.

Any suggestions?? I heard about some Protein bullets that have 42g of protein, when I go to T town tomorrow I am going to GNC, and health food store. I have also got to figure out how to eat more calories and still stay low???? She said try to get 1200???:Angel_anim: it seems impossible.

BUT, like I said on another forum. I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel and this time it is not a train :smile2: Praise God!

Hi Lo2us! I guess you and little Gus are in VA. How much longer will you be there? I know he is enjoying Grandma! Have you started on your degree thing you were working on? How's that going? Are you feeling good? Hope to make the next meeting. Did you make it to the last one? I had to miss.

We're still in VA. We will head home next Tuesday or Wednesday. We've had a nice time. I start working on July 17th. I will find out next week if I get funding for National Board from the state. If I get it I will go for it and if I don't I'll try again next year to get funding and focus on something else.

I'm doing good, but I'm struggling with the suggestion to have endoscopy on my stomach that Dr. H made last time I was in. I really don't want to have it unless I get way too tight again. I'm afraid if I don't have it, then Dr. H. won't give me anymore fills. I think I will try and call the office on Monday an try to talk to them about it or schedule another appointment to talk to Dr. H. I just strongly don't feel that it is a hernia that's been giving me trouble with being too tight. Even if it IS a hernia, I seriously doubt that I will let them repair it until next summer when I have time to recover from it (unless it is something serious.) I'm just not up for another surgery so soon, to be honest!. I've actually felt very comfortable since he took some out in May. In my humble opinion, I think I'm just hypersensitve to the band, especially during times of high stress. I know that my BP shoots up if I get stressed and I have TMJ related to stress too. When I manage my stress better, I do better with all that stuff and my band. Any suggestions?

Lo2us, I too need hernia surgery. I was actually supposed to get that set up after we returnrd from vacation, in May. I don't seem to be up for it either. I am having troule with the PB thing, a lot lately. I don't know that it is related to my hernia, it isn't a hiatal hernia, had that repaired when I had lap band. I am not putting on weight so I don't think my band should be getting tighter for that reason. Odd huh? I feel fine, not sick or anything like that. I guess I am not chewing well enough or eating too fast, ect. Just think it's odd after a year out. Guess I will talk about it when I see them the end of this month. Do you always go back to work that early?

Hi TP and Susan, and Lisa.

Morning everyone,

Susan, I changed it last week. Thought I needed a change. LOL

I am in Richardson now, my DIL is having a baby and I'm the grand sitter. LOL

Lisa is probably having fun with the house.

Susan, I'm with you about being slow. But I am thankful that along with that my health is improving. I have such a good feeling about myself. I am now in a size 16, haven't seen those #'s in a while.

How has your summer been? I have been busy with a week of summer school, six flags and next week a family reunion. This is the first summer that I haven't had grandchildren ( at my house)for the summer. I kinda like it. Well, gotta go, the natives are getting restless. Take care.

Yes, Lisa, I am staying in my box, I slimed:eek: in it yesterday, but I learned my lesson, my band doesn't care that much for turkey. lol

I got my first fill today. It was not bad at all! I was nervous for nothing. Dr. Keilin wasn't sure she was even going to give me a fill because i'm not that hungry. But she decided to give me half of what she normally gives for the first one. I hope all goes well and i don't get hungry too soon! Im going to try my best to come to the next meeting so hopefully i'll get to meet some of you!

I am with you aligamamma(sp?) I need to try to make it to the meetings more often, just went through a time of sort of being bored with it all, but I need to get my head back in the game and lose another 10 lbs. I haven't been since after recovering from a tt and just sort of got my mong on that and off the band. But had a small fill in Febuary I think and am still very tight, but not losing any weight, not gaining though so all is still good. Hope to see you there next month. Mizboo

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
