FEBRUARY SLEEVERS 2013....how you doing after you've been Sleeved

Recommended Posts

<p>I was sleeved on the 11th so one week ago today! Happy 1 weeker to all my 11th sleevers. I have lost 21lbs so far, 6 pre-op and 15lbs post. I feel soooo much better. I mean I noticed I even laugh more then I did pre, crazy. I have a lot more energy too, I think it is all of these Protein Shakes. Today the doc has me starting soft mushy food and seafood so that is exciting. I went and bought $60 bucks worth of seafood, Snacks and sides last night. After weighing it out and bagging I realized I bought 2 weeks worth of food. Ha, I would have NEVER only spent $60 bucks in 2 weeks before this. I mean I was a $20 dollar type of day kinda girl and more on weekends. I would just do the fast food life, so sad.. Glad I can put%

Well I had my surgery on Thursday 14th they also had to repair a hernia. I wasn't as scared as I thought I would be. But when I woke up I was in extreme pain, and I don't handle pain well. So they got me hooked up to a moriphine pain pump and it was good for a while but I needed something more so the gave me a shot of dylotin now that really helped it made me want to sleep. But there is no getting sleep in the hospital they are always coming in to check on something. The next day they did the upper GI test and I had no leaks so I could finally start having liquids. I got to come home on Friday. Still having a hard time with pain but keeping up on the pain meds. Today I got up and have walked around my street several times. And I have been trying to get my Protein in with the Isopure but it taste horrible!! And I took my chewable multi Vitamin which was also gross and my sublingual B12 wasn't bad. And the doctor prescribed pepsid and a med for nausea so I have taken both of those today plus I have to get in my meds I was already taking before surgery! DANG there is just so much to take in and it takes so long to get it in! I was kind of bummed when I weighed my self when I got home I had not lost any weight but gained a few pounds! And there has been times where I wish I had not done this but it's just because of the pain I can't stand to be in pain!

Does anyone else get gas from all the Protein and if so what do you do for it?

Oh yeah, A LOT of gas! Lol, it's like a stink bomb went off within a radius of 10ft. My husband won't sit by me once it starts, ha.

I'm a sip' date=' burp and repeat gal. I am also getting the rumbling in my tummy. Feels like gas but farts elude me. When I do we all cheer but I'm careful to ensure it is truly a fart. Don't want any repeats of most embarrassing moment. :)[/quote']

Yeah I have seen people say they have gained. It definitely is frustrating but like you said no where to go but down! (: I will do weigh ins on Thursdays. I just needed a piece of mind since coming home lol

It's the fluids, I gained while in the hospital. I don't remember exactly how much but I do remember it. You are going to do amazing.

Wow! I'm impressed your going back to teach so soon! I too' date=' was sleeved on the 14th & teach HS science but I'm staying out until 3/4. However, prepping for 2+ weeks of lessons was was way worse than anything I've had to go through with this process so far! Good luck![/quote']

Well I don't want to deal with FMLA or my kids having a sub for that long!

I was sleeved Feb 4 and I have been advanced to softs! I have never been so happy to see a tablespoon of cottage cheese in my life. Mr. Scrambled Egg' date=' you are my bich today! Sorry for my outburst by those Protein Drinks have drained the will to live out of me. I go back to work tomorrow and I did not know if I was going to have the stamina - or the mental power to handle it on the Protein drinks alone. And I have lost 18 pounds since surgery day, 34 pounds total. I am able to wear clothes that did not fit two weeks ago so I am a happy girl today.[/quote']

Good for you! Right now cottage cheese sounds like prime rib to me! Lol

Sleeved on Feb 6th. Down 13 lbs! Haven't lost in a couple days so now I'm starting to worry... LOL.... It's weird to see myself typing the same stuff that I have seen other ppl say on here. I would think, Good grief, isn't 13 enough but then when it happens to you, it's like, WTH is wrong?! I feel amazingly good! No problems at all, no pain, nausea, gas, anything. But, I am hungry. I want real food so bad. I am not allowed to eat any soft foods until 22 days post op. I really want food but I'm also worried that it will slow my weight loss when I start. Can't wait to get to goal!!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
