Emily. I have bcbs of Michigan though and it was soooo simple. My insurance kicked in dec 1. My first consult with the surgeon was Dec 8 and was was sleeved yesterday Feb 4. I hear bcbs is the easiest to get approved. I didnt have any of that 6 month diet or anything. Ur pcp will play a huge role though. Talk to ur primary doc because sleep apnea shortness of breath and fatigue seems minor. But helps a lot with ur approval. Dont worry. Your husband is right. You'll get approved and when its ur time you will love it!! Keep your head up????

I'm in the waiting game now... I called BCBS Mass today and they told me my case was pending. I'm relieved that its at least pending' date=' but now I'm worried I won't get approved. I have a BMI of 41 with no comorbids. I have had PCOS for close to 10 years, infertility and Migraines. I am on Metformin for insulin resistance and Zonegran daily for Migraine prevention. I know these technically aren't comorbids but I never had migraines until I became overweight. My OB GYN and also my surgeon Dr. Nicholson says if I can loose the majority of my weight my PCOS symptoms will drastically improve or go away. I have tried so many diets from WW to Atkins to 5 months of Phentermine. I'm tired of struggling and so desperately want the sleeve :( I'm trying to be positive and have the attitude that "I'm getting this surgery!!! it's going to happen!!!" but deep inside I can't help but think "I'm not that lucky".....

What are the odds I'm approved or denied? The anticipation is eating me alive!!![/quote']

Good luck girl!! I'm from Mass too! I have Tufts though! Having my surgery March 1st at Brigham & Women's Hospital! :)

Thanks so much for posting that question. I have BCBS in CA and my paper work was submitted on 2/15 and I am waiting and biting my nails. I have a BMI of 40.9 and no other issues. I am praying that I can have surgery on 4/17. Keep me posted on your progress. I hope to be posting that I got a date by the end of the week.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
