I'm 5 days out and I don't have any heartburn. Am I still suppose to take the antacid meds to prevent or only if needed?

I was given a 6-month supply and have to take all of it no matter what. It's also to help prevent ulcers and bleeding. Frankly in the first few weeks if I forgot it I would feel really hungry.

Yes make sure you take your six month supply of it. I'm one year post op and that's what I was instructed to do by my surgeon. In my opinion, it will help you down the road with any heartburn issues.

I am almost 6 weeks out and yesterday I had really bad acid problems. I was on Protonix and that really wasn't working for me. My surgeon suggested Nexium for a RX or Prilosec for an OTC. Today I will start the Prilosec and see if that helps.

I had surgery in Mexico and the gave me a two month supply to take home. She told me to take it in the morning and at night for 2 months but then I started to question it since I'm feeling pretty good. I will just take it.

I guess I was more afraid to take that pill when I'm on liquids only. It's a good size

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
