I find my calories at this stage (9 weeks PO) are so low that if I go too hard I get light headed.

I have heard a lot of good things about this workout, and if you can get past the throwing up stage it has great results. i guess its kinda like those people on the Biggest Loser, they are just not used to the physical activity, but once they get past those first few workouts their good. i just recently bought one called Supreme 90 Day off ebay, its supposedly like P90x and so far its a great workout.

I, PERSONALLY, like the Insanity workout. If I've been going to the gym for a while, running, or cycling, I throw it in to shake things up a bit.

It's hard. But then again, I'm that "go-hard-or-go-home" kind of person.

Is it something you can do all the time? No. It's cardio-based and you will kick start your metabolism in a different way. Even if you've been working out on a regular basis, it is still pretty challenging.

I do it for 60 days and go back to my other workouts.

Good luck.

My doc cleared me at my one month visit. He said it would hurt but that I wouldn't injure or tear the muscle.

I was cleared Monday, I'm gonna call them. I was scared. I was thinking it might just be tight.

It took me closer to 10-12 weeks to feel normal working out with my abs. At 8 weeks I started very lightly but was a little scared and waited longer.

HI loveit222,

i am exactly one month out, and did the Fit Test yesterday. I was able to hang except for the last 5 mins push up part. It was 25 mins of intense workout, i knew it was going to be hard coz I haven't done anything like insanity before. But i am using resistance bands on parts i can't do and modifying it if I can. I figured it's worth trying, my heart rate's really up so it's definitely working. good luck. will do day #2 later today, and i'll see if I can hang with the program :) .

P.S. I wear abdominal binder when I do it even if my incisions are healed, i like the support it gives.

and MD said okay, as long as I can tolerate it & stop if uncomfortable.

How realistic is it for a fairly out of shape mom

Of three little ones to take on this challenge? What does it entail... Time wise... How many days a week? Can you do everything at home? When did you start it after your vsg?

I LOVE IT! I am doing the insanity program (day 3) and running with C25K three times a week. I am on day 3 now and I feel my body getting tighter and moving is a lot easier. I also hike three times a week 7 to 12 kilometres to the top of Zugerberg ( a mountain where I live it is about 1000m high).

I always worked out even when I was bigger and working out has always been an addiction of mine as I do not smoke or drink.

I get dizzy during the work outs but I slow down drink some Water and carry on.

My doctor told me yesterday that is was probably due to low blood pressure from not drinking enough Water.< /p>

I am five months out and had a complete throidectomy 7 weeks ago. Seeing my nutritionist next week to see if I can supplement my food because I think for the level of intensity of workouts I need more calories.

Insanity is no joke. You will as hard and as fast as YOU can. You will get better. Stop before you puke or pass out and rest a minute.

That sounds awesome!! I will have to try it sometime. It is kind of pricey as new on Amazon so will look on Craig's list or ebay for a better deal. What kind of weights are you guys using with it and how heavy? How does this workout compare to a hard Jillian Michaels (ripped) or Bob Harper (inside out) DVD? An hour of Bob Harpers Inside Out with 10 lb had weights is a really good challenge for me!!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
