Anything ice cold feels so good to my tummy

Recommended Posts

I've never been much of an ice eater and had no desire to do so once I was post op.. But for some reason, any liqiud I drink that is ice cold or frozen, feels so good to my tummy and stays down. I noticed this when I had a pop-sicle about a week ago. It just went down so smooth and I was satisfied. I was having the hardest time getting Water down. A lightbulb in my head comes on and says, freeze it. I let it sit in the freezer for about 3 hours, took it out, it was slushy like.. Went right on down and felt so refreshing. Tried the same thing with my Vitamin water today and look at me.. only noon and I've already gotten about 30 ounces down. Think I've found a new trick. ;)

I'm glad that you've found something that works for you! I think that is really the key to all of this. Funny, how people who have the same surgery are so different. For the first 2 weeks all that I could do was suck on ice chips. Now it hurts my sleeve to have anything too cold. I have to have my Water room temperature & hot liquids are the best. LOL

I am the same way still at 2 1/2 months I can only tolerate drinks that are ice cold. I love my sugar free popcicles still too. I am getting ready for my 3 months bloodwork which I am curious about because I have heard and read that people with low Iron levels crave ice so I will be interested to see how my iron is. I havent had to take any extra up to this point.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
