Oh yes! Gobs of hair! I wear my hair in ballerina Buns and braids because if I wear it down, you can see the hair sticking out longer below the length of my hair! I take my Vitamins faithfully, bought Biotin scalp spray and just gave in to the Nioxin items!! (Holy crap.....must be made of gold! 91 bucks for Shampoo and conditioner!). I have (had) very full hair and probably lost half the volume.....no bald spots....it is like I lost every other strand!

As for weight loss.....75 pounds down about 30 more to go. That will be high school weight......I look decent now, but I just want that goal! I am still losing and wearing size 10 comfortably. It is just crawling off now!

Jeff, you are doing awesome and it depends on what you look like and how you are built. My husband feels best at a 34 and struggles when he is a 36......maybe give yourself some bounce wiggle room. It is all up to you and how you feel!

Awesome job everyone else on your journey! Keep it up! We are soon to that 6 months anniversary whereI think it will magically just stop. I would love to exercise but I had a scary episode with my back exploding while driving my son to school and blacked out from the pain, pulled over and put it in park as I was blacking out. I go to the spine specialist next Monday. Hopefully, I can get into a routine soon! I am a teacher and that happened on my first day of summer last Tuesday. I had all kinds of plans to kick my exercising up into high gear! Oh well.....another road block!

Stay happy everyone! Enjoy the journey, summer and make good use of summer's fruits and exercise opportunities!

January 10th was my new life date. and as of today I have lost 60 lbs of the 100 lbs goal. I think the best part is how great I feel. Even though it is a little slower loss now than at first I am still happy. I use palmers lotion everyday and skin issue isn't a problem (yet) and maybe it won't be. Hair loss has been thinning for 3 months and I think it has slowed down too. No new regrowth yet.

I take a daily Vitamins and Calcium and b/12 and my labs are great.

I joined a gym and LOVE to exercise now!!! I am so blessed to have been given this new life. I will always take care of myself now.

HAPPY SIX MONTH ANNIVERSARY, everyone! How are we doing? I'm down to 218, which is below my goal and my doc's goal. All going well. Can eat anything, more or less, just in small quantities. Head hunger is there, and physical hunger is gradually coming back, especially in the morning.

Working out 4-5 times a week, and literally start Couch to 5K training this afternoon.

It's all good. And I'm really, really close to getting another Bucket List item checked off...doing a pull up. :)

Happy Anniversary to everyone! Great for you, Jeff! Doesn't it feel awesome to feel awesome?!?!?! I am sitting at my six Month's appointment as I type this. I am not at goal yet, but I am still following my plan and started couch to 5 k last week. My goal is to do a 5 K in the fall and run the whole thing! My present to myself after this appointment is to go to Best Buy and get a fitness monitor.....still torn between a fitbit flex and Body Media. I will make my decision when I get there.....anyone have an opinion?

Well, here's to our six month anniversary! May the next six months be even better!

On week 7 of C25K.....I do the Zen Labs App and it really works! I now consider myself a runner! I have pretty much stalled out in June and since I started running, I lost about 14 pounds! I love it and I only do 35 minutes every other day. School starts up again soon and I am a teacher.....so just hoping I still am motivated to work out after a long day with kindergarteners! I did not get my fit bit flex yet.....they are sold out EVERYWHErE! Even online says October! Hope you all are doing great! Enjoy the rest of summer!

Keya......how beautiful! You look so radiant!

Warrior Dash was a success! I ran the entire thing and did ever obstacle! Even the really high rope climb! I am in another 5 k with obstacles this weekend. I am now a running junkie....lol! I could never run....not even in my best shape of my 20's! I tried but could never get past a few hundred feet and not I regularly run 3 miles 3 times a week! I feel so accomplished, that I moved onto couch to 10k. I need to up my speed. I run a 13 minute mile. I know, I have the endurance, not the speed.

Good luck with all of you! I hope all are well!

ROCK STAR!!!!

That's totally fantastic. I finished C25K two nights ago...tonight is my first free run. It's hot as hell outside but hoping to up my speed too. I've been in the 11-12-and-change per mile rate. My 5k is October 12. Would love to do a Warrior Dash type of thing down the road. Right now, I've got a month to get up to the full 5k running. I'm at like 2.6 miles now with the last 30 minute run I did.

Weight is finally stable, sort of, at between 210 and 215. Some weeks higher and some lower since July. Every day is a struggle with the head hunger. Winning most days.

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
