What was your hardest day of post-op recovery?

Recommended Posts

I am 3 days post op and am a little soarer today than I was yesterday. This made me wonder, what was your worst day post op? When did you start feeling better?

My worst days were 3-5. I was fine when I left the hospital the day after surgery. It was day 3 thru 5 that I felt the worst. Walking, a heating pad on my abdomen/shoulder and sticking to my pain meds really helped get me over the "hump". 13 days post op I felt good enough to host my 20 crazy relatives for Christmas Eve and Christmas day.

This too shall pass:-)

I was sore for about 1 week but nothing major. It was the kind of soreness you have when you have a bad cold and cough constantly.

We had holiday house guests staying with us and they were amazed by how "normal" I was acting after surgery.

My hardest day emotionally was about Day 4..... I felt weak/tired and a little depressed. It passed by Day 5.

Every day was a little better than the last....

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
