My doctor and nutritionist were happy and said to keep doing what I'm doing!

I've lost exactly 35 lbs since surgery. Why is it so hard for me to just be happy with that? Why do I have to compare myself to others? Why do I have to focus on how much MORE I have to lose?

If it makes you feel any better, I'm going "Gawd, I wish I was that skinny..." and lamenting that for me, that's another 70 pounds away :P

I really like this group we have going here. Thank you all for participating and for letting me whine.

On an up note, my anger at the 12.5lbs motivated me to get on my (evil) recumbent bike for 30 minutes. I'm losing this weight, dammit!

Lol good for you, get mad and get on that bike ..better than the old days! Also as everyone always says the weight didnt come on overnight...well used saying but very right. I have to do a 6 month program before I can have my surgery :( so I will be watching for awhile

Hi,happily not bingeing...for now...lol

But since being home from holiday I am having an issue with wanting to eat at night again.I've read some of my replies earlier on to people that struggled and boy is payback a b***h...lol.Just do it,just say no to yourself...bla,bla,bla....

At the moment I just dont want to say no to myself.Am struggling with balance between Protein and carbs. When I eat little bits of carbs and Proteins I seem to lose weight effortless but my Protein is too low and the hair falls out like mad. Then I cut my carbs, eat more Proteins, am in a foul mood all the time and I WANT TO EAT,but the Hair loss slows down quickly...lol

Am starting to understand when people say the losing phase of this is the easy part. Its figuring out a balance at the end of losing that is now a nightmare for me.

Anyhow,I have decided that now is the time to follow my own patronizing advice.Suck it up,eat proteins, say no to myself,no excuses, make my own rules again and stick to it.

Will let you know how that is working for me...hehehe.

How are you doing?

How is it? I got some at Calandros on Seigen. Added it to a Protein Shake, and it didn't seem to dissolve.

Hi everybody! Rough couple of days, but today seems better. We've had horrible weather for 2 weeks straight and I think that contributed.

I'm really liking the PB2!

I've put it in my shakes, and in oatmeal, yogurt and sf pudding. It's good!

What exactly do you do with PB2

I sometimes like to make it the consistency of Peanut Butter and then spread it on stuff.

Binge eater here. I always said any program that tackled 'being hungry' wouldn't work for me because I don't eat out of hunger.

I am just about two weeks out. Occasionally I think about food. i want to snack more than anything... but it's true how things change after surgery. My mom had some Cheetos when she visited me over break. The smell of them was nauseating. They left three huge slices of gooey chocolate cake... I threw them away. Crunch and Munch in my cabinet? Not a temptation. I measure what I am going to eat because I found out last night what eating too much/too quickly brings. My sleeve was unimpressed with my need to keep eating.

I am sure it'll be more difficult as time goes on but for the moment I don't seem to have the same impulses or triggers. In fact' date=' I suffer from S.A.D (Seasonal Affective Disorder) and really since I decided to have the surgery, I haven't had a mopey, crying day. I think doing something good for me and knowing that I am working toward solving my weight problem has really helped battle it.[/quote']

I'm sorry, but it sounds like your mother and/or family don't understand that the surgery is a tool and it's kinda crappy of them to bring over cheetos and leave chocolate cake at your house. Good for you throwing it out. Don't let them sabotage you!

Don't be talkin' bad about my folks, now!

They traveled from Spokane Wa to Atlanta GA to be with me for Christmas, despite the fact that I just had surgery. I was 3 or 4 days out when they arrived. I didn't WANT them to edit their eating for me. I couldn't physically eat it, so I wasn't going to be tempted. My mother had gastric bypass 10 yrs ago. My dad knew I had the surgery, didn't know anything about it. I didn't expect him to. He didn't have any surgery so he wasn't limiting what he ate when he ate it and that's the way I wanted it.

The cake they brought back from visiting my Godparents and they just didn't have time to eat it before they left town. I was not at all tempted by it and tossed it after they left, along with the Cookies and Crunch & Munch and bread that I BOUGHT FOR THEM TO EAT while they were here. I would have been mortified if they couldn't enjoy themselves because of me.

No offense was meant! Apologies to you and yours. My mom tries to sabotage me at every turn. Glad they are supportive.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
