12/31 surgery date - 1st time in a long time that I am excited for NYE

My surgery is set for the 31st.. super pumped and ready to start 2013 with a bang

No real pre-op diet - have to do liquids and MagCit on Sunday.

Only concern... on my pre-op visit I had gained 4 lbs since October when my start weight was recorded at 264... I have to drop those but was pretty sure it was a combo of water weight and Xmas parties. I was also fully dressed.

I am doing high protein now and limited carbs and drinking my weight in water. Trying not to step on the scale every hour.

Between that and the MagCit, I believe that the loss should be doable.

Anyone foresee any issues with switching to all liquids early - Saturday and Sunday? I don't want any last minute surprises.

Also, any other 12/31 surgery dates?

I just started on FitnessPal too as Ursomajor3460.

I could use a few book recommendations! I've got a few on my list but nothing I'm really excited about.

Dec 31st here as well :) good luck ladies! Serious New Years resolution for us! I'm excited for our future :)

Congrats

Praying for you!

We made it through! Pain was pretty intense immediately afterwards but have gotten a handle on it. Now just dull ache. Prayers you guys!!

It took them forever to do my leak test and everything is all good! My stomach still has pains, unfortunately my period started the next morning.

Congrats everyone!!

Mine went really fast! I've heard people's periods starting pretty quick too. Hope you are feeling better! I'm having trouble sipping liquids and haven't gotten any protein in yet. I plan on trying a pre made shake tonight. I'm so excited for us! We made it! Happy New Year to us!!!

I got to come home around 11 o'clock today :)

I was home by 2:30.. my period started also so that was a surprise... I came home and laid down and slept too long so I am behind on my pain meds and feeling it... no problem with liquids or protein, thank god... just some issues with coughing, irritation up near my shoulders which I think is gas and soreness where my drain was... I have the kiddos running around etc so hoping I can get some real rest tomorrow here at home by myself and set some reminders for my pain meds. I feel like I can get a decent amount of liquid down... I have to be careful to not gulp it too quickly or "sid the sleeve" reminds me quickly that he can be a real ass

Your shoulder pain is referred pain from your stomach which shares nerve pathways. It should resolve itself soon though. Glad you're getting your liquids and protein in!! The tiniest of sips has been making my sleeve gurgle and cramp. I'm hoping that is short lived!
