7 weeks post op - odd slight pain left side of abdomen

Recommended Posts

I did have some foods yesterday that I don't normally eat - but everything felt fine - I chewed everything really well and felt fine yesterday (I did not overeat). Woke up this morning with an odd slight pain, like a pin-prick in my upper left abdomen. It lasts about a second and happens every minute or two. It doesn't seem to be brought on by eating or drinking. My stomach feels fine. I held off on eating until 11:30 this morning. I feel fine otherwise, no fever, no headache just this annoying pin-prick every minute or two.

One little flub I made yesterday was that I had a sip of wine without thinking about it and then decided that wasn't a good idea - however, it didn't burn or feel bad in my tummy and literally it was a tiny sip.

Anyone else have an odd pain like this 2 months out?

I'm going to give it a day or 2 to see what happens before I call my surgeon (if it gets worse I'll call, but I don't think it's necessary now - this may not even have anything to do with my stomach or the surgery).

I'm also 7 weeks post op ... can't give you advice on the pain but I'm sure it wouldn't be caused by the wine. I had a glass yesterday (cleared by my NUT). No problems for me :)

I remember having different pains here and there around that time period. I think your right just call your Dr. if it persists just to check in.

Most likely, the pain is from the stitches they put into your abdominal muscles. Once you start feeling better and moving around more, you'll pull them causing pain. Once they dissolve (in about another week or two) you should be just fine. Just try to be a bit careful with moving around too much and don't lift anything heavy!

I had the same pain after my sleeve 7 months ago. Bariatric team said was probably due to the work in the abdominal cavity. I noticed the most when I did abdominal exercises for about 2-3 months out (this was my second surgery within 3 months though). I now only notice now if I have stayed out the gym for a few days and still only ab exercises. Don't worry it will get better. But if are concerned don't be afraid to contact your Bariatric team. They are the experts.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
