I want to take a group of just bandsters to swim with dolphins. It is very healing and an experience of a lifetime!!!:clap2: There is a cruise for bandsters in June and I don't want to interfere with that...I know some people do not like cruises.... I was thinking of May, but if you tell me which month you would more likely go to one of the most beautiful reefs in the world,,,then I can plan it for the majority... the choices are:

May, September, October...which one?

Hmmmmmmmmm, I would really like this! Can you make sure you plan it on a date close to the LBT cruise so I don't have to fly back and forth? Myself and another one of my friends would like to go on this. Do you have any ballpark ideas of how much it will cost?

Just a side note, I wonder if this could be a pre- or post- trip option for those on the LBT 2007 cruise? I think some may be very interested.

great idea.....except for me:

1) I don't fly. Anywhere. Ever.

2) I don't cruise ship. Anywhere. Ever.

3) I don't leap into the ocean. Ever. The salt Water is bad for my prosthesis.

Other than that, being in the company, even briefly, with such incredible creatures, seems like it would be a wonderful experience, from what I've read by those who have done it.

Jack, we could just give you a shot to sleep while flying and you won't even know it!!! The Water will be good for your prosthesis....leg? Luv ya!

I have been on 11 cruises now and my favorite cruise was when I book a shore excursion to swim with the Dolphins in Cozumel. It was truly wonderful and I loved every minute of it, it was worth every penny I spent!

I wish I could go, but with all of our remodeling in our home we had to do (new oven, new fridge, new central a/c & heat, new range), I'm broke. lol.

If anyone has the opportunity to do it, I promise you will love it!

Does the month affect the Water temperature? For instance, out in CA, in May, the water's freezing. It's probably at its warmest in September, before it start cooling down again.

In May it is nice... It is always warm in the caribbean so the Water will be nice.

If anyone needs to sign up please look for the sign-up post I will start soon!

Holy cow - I would actually consider purchasing a swimsuit for that! Sounds fun, but I don't know that I'd fly somewhere to do it. If it was close by, I'd want to, though. (I'm in L.A.)

L.A. that's close! just a quick flight to Houston and then a 1/2 hr flight to Roatan! A little Benadryl so you can sleep on the flight if you get nervous and you are in Paradise!

Angela...

You aren't telling the whole truth about this trip of yours. You aren't making the claims here that you have elsewhere. You aren't giving the prices for your "time" and "seminars" nor are you telling others of how you plan to heal their MS, heart problems, obesity, etc.

Why change the technique now?

BTW...

You don't have an option in the poll for 'never'.

I DO NOT HEAL MS, etc. Each person is responsible for their healing as I have been for my healing of my MS. Dolphins are very inspiring and healing and helped me a great deal!! Also for this site I was not planning on charging anything extra, it is essentially the cost of the trip, lodging, snorkeling trips etc. and my classes which are to help teach how to improve your healing in whatever area are not charged for for what I wanted to do... I usually charge almost 4-$5,000 per trip of going to swim with the dolphins and the self-improvement improvement segments during my retreats, but if you had noticed the cost is minimal for the trip(the cost is what it was without a profit for me) I had intended for us bandsters to know each other and have a bigger than life experience snorkeling and swimming with dolphis in the beautiful Caribbean. I have been symptom free from MS now for over 5 years and this experience was one that helped me on my journey and has helped people with cancer, and children with other illnesses. My goal is to share what I can with people about helping themselves with the wonders of nature we have...HOPE and a positive attitude is the first step to healing. Learning how to deal with anger is at the top also. I do not understand why you are attacking me and these wonderful methods that I want to share with people.

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL
