Let me tell you I don't know about anyone else but everyday I get better and better. I am two weeks out and can drink 6 oz of Water in small sips and medium gulps and I can eat a whole Greek yogurt in a half hour and 2-3 oz of meat. I started barely able to get anything down especially water so if it seems awful in the beginning just wait it gets so much better quickly. No worries ! I am sooooooooooo happy I did this.

I agree with you. I am the same way. I am very happy I did this. The first few days were rough but now I'm all good and back to my normal routine. It is great

I'm a week out after my surgery. I've lost seven pounds. I'm not hungry, but I'm craving real food!! I've had friends bring over food for my family. I imagine myself picking up that piece of chicken and ravishing it! The Protein Shakes are grossing me out, because it takes me so long to drink them. I'm finding myself wanting food food food! I don't plan on eating horribly, but the deep dish pizza my husband was eating earlier was driving me crazy. I want to make healthy food and eat it, but right now I get cranky when I see any food. Does anyone else have this problem?

Yes..... I had the head hunger... I had my surgery on the 10th, I have lost 20lbs.... I couldn't take the Protein Drinks either but I got approval for cottage cheese .. I ate Jello, to satisfy my chewing cravings... And Greek yogurt .... When my family had real food, I compensated with broth... It gets better... Trust me... I'm very happy I did it. Now I drink the Protein drinks , eat my yogurt and peeled fruit...

How much time did you take off from work? I have taken 2 weeks but am worried about going back and feeling so weak. My employer is fine with me taking more time but also offered for me to work part time to ease back into it. I'm still so weak and tired.

I took 2 weeks. I think it was perfect. I have an office job so minimal movement but no pain really anymore, just a little tender. Energy is low but that will get better with more calories. Just don't get into the habit of sleeping a lot affer surgery and u should be fine

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
