Changing docs during 6 month surpervised visit

Recommended Posts

Is it possible to change docs in the middle of surpervised diet? I have an upcoming appt w/ the current doc but can't make it and if I reschedule I would be pushed back.till next month. Has anyone heard of switching docs and how will this affect my ins. Case for approval?

The only people who can tell you what impact that would have on your insurance would be your insurance. Every insurance provider will have different rules and stipulations. I'd suggest you give your insurance a call, explain the situation, and ask them what impact, if any, there would be if you were to change doctors.

I definitely agree with lolly. I just got "approved" for surgery today and had finished my 6 months of doctor visits last week (December 3rd). Half way through, just like you, I switched doctors. However, it was from my regular doctor to her physician assistant as my doctor had left the practice. So there was no transfering of files or anything.

Come to find out at my surgeon appointment today (where I weighed in and had my pre-op appointment for my endoscopy) that the 6 months of paperwork from my doctor doesn't get turned into my insurance (the surgeon reviews it and they keep it in case my file gets audited by insurance). Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Michigan apparently doesn't require submitted approval. As long as I meet my insurance's qualifications (40+ BMI and 6 months attempted of doctor supervised dieting), it's essentially up to my surgeon to go through with the surgery on me.

Good luck with your last 3 months! I know it seems like a long time, but in the end it is a great way to put you in the right mindset. I've had a lot of time to think about what I am going to do and can't wait for January 15th (tentative surgery date) to come and for my new life to start!

Are the doctors in the same office? I saw multiple doctors but they were all part of the same office. Just got my explanation of benefits and I have a zero balance for my surgery. I did a six month supervised diet as well required by my insurance BCBS of MI.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
