gillopez has a point but the fact that you posted here means you have not resolved the issue of whether or not to have the surgery. Good luck as you continue to work this out.

If gillopez has a point, then pre ops should not be posting in the post op forum, women should not post on the men's forum and vice versa.

Good luck in what ever you decide to do, but you will carry a lot of resentment towards your folks and that will eventually gnaw away at your relationship with them.

Some things in life are worth fighting for.

I'm 47 years old and my mom tried "talking" me out of "it". I knew she is just concerned about me, and only wants my well beeing. I tried to reassure her and thanked her for her consern. I know she cares about me as I do her.

I have had about 3 or 4 times that I almost chickened out, I mean seriously doubting. But in the end I remember why it is I started this journey in the first place: and I get back on track. My surgery is tomorrow and I'm so excited! And nervous too.

I have surgery tomorrow morning too! Good Luck to you and check in when you can. I am also worried but we started this journey to get to a healthy place and we will get there!

As always' date=' parents will knock you down and out....they akways have their thumb pressed right on you![/quote']

Let your parents read some of the posts on this site. Print some out for them. I wish I could tell them about my experience!! Good luck to you.

Aww, that's why I stop telling people because the negativity makes you second guess the best decision for you. I too was talked out of it a decided no I'm doing it, I will be sleeved Jan. 3, 2013 :0)
