Did you have trouble laying flat after surgery?

Recommended Posts

I slept somewhat elevated in my hospital bed last night, so it wasn't an issue. When I got home today I wanted to take a nap and tried to lay in my bed. Even with extra pillows, it was not going well.

When were you able to lay flat on your bed after surgery?

Thanks!

It took me about a week till I was able to sleep in my bed. I slept sitting up on my couch, and know a few people who slept in recliners. It took another week till i was able to go back to sleeping on my side.

3.5 weeks post and I'm still sleeping on the couch. Sleeping on my back was OK after a week or so, except that when I woke my abdominal muscles were often very sore, and I had bad stomach acid.

I'm going to try the bed again soon, but for now, I'm still reclined.

It took me 2 or 3 weeks to lay flat. Laying down made me feel like i was drowning. However every couple of day i could lay a bit lower. 5 weeks out and back to normal. Good luck!

I was most comfortable in my recliner for 2-3 nights. Then did fine in bed.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
