Energy Advice.... Lack Thereof.

Recommended Posts

Hi fellow sleevers!!

I could really use some help or advice on what types of foods or drinks I could have to help increase my energy levels.

I am currently 6 weeks out from my surgery date of Oct. 30th. I'm down about 33 lbs. :) But I feel as if I'm kind of in a rut. food doesn't really interest me, although the weird thing is, is that I'm always thinking about food and what kinds to eat. But when it comes to eating, ehhh, not really interested.

I would love to hear some advice on the kinds of foods to eat for energy.

It's so weird and different how life changes after the sleeve, when my life used to revolve around food and now not so much.... I just wish I had the energy levels to get really active.

Thanks for any advice!!!

This may seem kind of silly, but how much are you exercising? I find that the more I do it, the more energy I have. Really, post surgery other than sleep there's not anything food wise (which would previously have been something sugar and fat loaded) that will boost me.

I had the same issue. I talked to my NUT who suggested I increase my carbs. She said I needed carbs for energy which, in turn, would help me burn more calories. She suggested adding more vegetables to my Soups which were a staple in my diet. I did and it totally worked for me. My energy went up and I was able to start an exercise program which catapulted me into a new way of life.

Give it a try. See if works for you.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
