How dis your marriage change after your sleeve?

For the better? For the worse?

My husband is very supportive but I'm just curious what this did for others. Eating out & drinking will totally change for me & that means for him, too.

No changes here. My hubbie met me when I was thin, we got married had children, of course i gained weight and a lot of it. . then i had the surgery and now i'm thin again like before. He has never changed, I have never changed except for i'm more active and can do stuff which was alittle hard to do as a obese person. We've been married 34 years and life is good.

I have had no change in my marriage , I have been married 23 yrs and like you , we went out to dinner alot , However I am 2 1/2 months out and just because I eat less I do not let that stop me ... either I order an appitizer or just order a dinner and take most of it home .... However when we go out for drinks I will just order juice or a virgin something or other and babysit that puppy all night ...lol ... however we are still going strong .... Don't worry yourself too much with that ,.where there is a will there is a way

Hi Sars...I wonder this too. My husband and I have been together for almost 30 years and we have weathered lots of tough times. Although he is not super supportive of me going to Mexico to have this surgery, and has expressed fears for my well being and outcome (sometimes harshly) I feel confidant that once I am on the other side and feeling good, it will improve our relationship even more. I hope to inspire him to take better care of himself, and to include him in activities other than our usual dining out. This surgery is an investment in our future! :)

It hasn't changed it at all, which I'm thinking is a good sign for the health of our marriage. :)

It's a bit strained when it comes to eating. We don't eat together anymore and have agreed to disagree on his food intake. He is about 40 pounds overweight and knows it. But....he has to be ready, i know from my own experience that I had to be ready. At least he doesn't bring food items into the house that tempt me.

My husband had concerns in the beginning of my journey but, now is even more supportive each day, so far. I am not sleeved yet.

Good luck all!

My wife had concerns I would leave her near the beginning of my journey for another woman because she was/is overweight like I was. I sat her down way back then each time she said that and looked her straight in the eyes and told her my commitment to our marriage and I am faithful. It is not enough t tell your SO daily that you love her because it may get routine, expected after many years of marriage. We try to remain young at heart every day, like newlyweds to keep the flame burning stronger than any temptation. It is not in my nature to do otherwise. She has not raised the same concerns in many months and is very committed to my success and helps me all the time with food choices, shopping and reminding to to exercise when I get busy with other things. I hope that someday hat she chooses to take the same WLS as I, especially since my insurance covers it. However, I support her in her decision and he will make the choice when she feels ready to.

My husband has been very supportive through this. He has babied me all the way. Now he can't keep his hands to his self. He always touching me. He also tells me how pretty and how he don't care what I weigh he loves me. When we met and married I was skinny. I had a hysterectomy 4 years after we married and I blew up. Now I am 2 months post op and on my way to being skinny again. With a wonderful husband of fixing to be 20 years.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
