So I have a question for all of you who have been sleeved. I am being sleeved Dec 20. Being the holidays, lots of family is in town and I am nervous as to how it will go. Obviously we all need a couple weeks to feel like we can go back to work, but how many days before you felt like doing anything before laying in bed? When could you shop? Visit family or friends? 3 days? 7? 10? I have heard some people who go to Mexico actually do tourist stuff while they are there. Do I need to tell my family to not plan on me at all during Christmas?

You may feel great, you may feel like crap. I wouldn't make any plans you can't get out of. Just plan on going wi the flow. I started to feel decent by day 3. By week 3 I was chainsawing wood in the back yard.

Good luck with the upcoming surgery.

Butter the bean thanks so much for replying, you are always super helpful and have great advice. I know sometimes people who have been on a while get sick of answering questions but I really appreciate it..

Kinda doubt ill be sawing wood at three weeks out, though.

It took me about 2 weeks to be out of pain but about a month not to feel so fatigued. I felt like I was in quicksand and moving was just such a chore.

And just as a side note: i don't think that those of us who have hung around here for awhile are bothered by questions that are posed politely, even if they are repeats. :-)

In my opinion tell your family to not rely on you, but you will try.

Consider some things that would put you sitting down, or able to relax if you needed it...go look at christmas lights, or an evening of christmas movies?

I was sleeved 1-4-12 so at this time I was already cutting down on foods, just to get used to it. I had begun a protien shake a day, and my Hubby had began testing recipies, I was already in a bit of pain (I had the surgery after being diagnosed with a huge stomach tumor, so I decided to have the sleeve - it also cut down on the risk of the tumor coming back.) so my holiday was limited. I was in a cycle of work, rest, exercize, rest, housework maybe, rest...

Good luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
