I have 1 cup a day, Had to give it up for a while when I was having horrible reflux. So far the 1-1 1/2 cups a day are fine. They say you have to drink extra Water if you are going to have caffeine.

I think most surgeons recommend abstaining from coffee while you are healing, then limiting it afterward. Coffee is a diuretic and it's important that you keep your body well-hydrated. Don't count it as part of your l 1/2 gal of liquid

I was never a coffee-drinker before wls, but now I enjoy putting a scoop of nectar Cappacino Protein or vanilla Cinnamon Protein in a big mug of coffee and drinking it first thing every morning. It's good and it loosens my band, which has a tendency to be tight in the mornings. I don't even try to eat until I've had a cup of something warm.

Thanks everyone, I will double check with my surgeon. I am sure if its matter of being successful or failing, I will gladly give it up. Will also try the warm drink Gayle suggested.

Along the line of drinking coffee....what do you think about artificial sweeteners? I've heard that it slows down the weigh loss process, but I for one cannot have coffee without my sweetener!

PS Gayle I love your quote about life being like baggage...so true....

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
