Yikes! Just Got Asked To Do A Tv Commercial For My Surgeon

Recommended Posts

The title says it all - I immediately start fretting that I am not at goal so i cant do a commercial - then on to I need tooth whitening strips, to get some self tanner and some clothes that actually fit haha. I will let you guys know how it goes. My hubby will most likely be in it as well (though I have not told him yet haha) he's down 130+ lbs. since his own VSG two weeks before my own and is right at goal - waaaaay soooner than we ever expected.

If we do end up doing this i will be sure to post a link.

Wow, that is so awesome. You are in a good situation to really make a positive impact on others who are considering this wonderful approach to putting he obesity disease into omission. Plus you will get famous and will perhaps get considered for other commercials. And then you will not only be famous, but " rich and famous." Congratulations. What a validation of your good life choices. I got sleeved by Swedish weight loss as well by Dr McMahon. Perhaps I will join you someday. Lol. Down 125 lb so far in 5 months and looking forward to losing my last 20-30 lb.

That is great! You should come to the support group meetings - I go to the Saturday meetings and I always get something valuable. I think those folks at Swedish are the best :)

I am still contemplating this one - number one reason that I may decline is that I have not yet reached my goal. For me - that is really, really important - as it is something I have never attained with WL in the past. It is a reason i dont post in progress, or befores here either - I want that really crazy before/after thing to be going on (well it is already, but the next 60-65 lbs will show an insane change.)

My before pics are so incredibly unattractive that anything is better than those haha.

Are you kidding me? What an honor to be asked to do this. I know you feel that there is some more progress to make, but the surgeon definitely thinks you have done great and have validated all the benefits of using WLS as a tool to be healthy. Out of curiosity, when are they asking to shoot the commercial? Perhaps you have some more time to drop 10, 20 or 30 lbs.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
