Back To Where It All Started....with Before And After Photos

Recommended Posts

Just got back from Frankfurt, Germany where I had my one year check up...passed with flying colors. Sadly, the doctor who did my surgery (known as the Rock Star of Gastric Surgery in Europe) was called into surgery unexpectedly so I saw someone else. Nice guy. He was very impressed with my 83 lb loss, reaching goal, and my sonogram results. I also took a copy of my recent blood work which he really appreciated having and even kept a copy! I told him I was writing a book and he invited me to a big conference on gastric surgery being held this week (unfortunately I couldn't go). But all in all, it was a great visit.

I have to say, going back into the hospital was a bit surreal....those first days a year ago were pretty darn weird...but now I couldn't be happier! The greatest news is now my brother is considering doing this too...makes me really happy.

So here I was a year ago, and here I am today standing in front of Krankenhaus Saschenhausen the hospital where my journey really started!

Congrats!

You look awesome! How did you pick your goal weight? I am getting conflicting recommendations from NUT, Surgeon, and BMI charts. Any thoughts! Thank you for being so inspiring!

Cheers, Dottie

To Scubadottie....congrats on your wonderful weight loss! For me, I chose my official goal weight based on the CDC BMI calculator (Centers for Disease Control) guidelines. You can find your weight range by clicking on the guidelines. They give you a rate range which puts you in a healthy BMI (25 or below). When I reached the top of my weight range (141 lbs) I declared myself reaching my goal; however I now fluctuate in the 130's and plan to stay there because I feel very comfortable at this weight.

To Butterfly Secrets; glad my post helped today. If you are just starting your journey, please take a look at my weekly blog; I think it might prove inspirational. It was a blog that I read early on that really helped me do this. Please start at www.queenofcrop.com/about And keep us posted on how you're doing.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
