I use to love to drink milk, it was my favorite. I would drink a gallon of 1% milk every 3 days. After surgery I have not been able to even stomach the sight of milk. I want some so bad but then I just look at it or smell it and I am grossed out. I am 3 months post op..... Will I ever like milk again???

I don't know, but I am going through something similar with coffee... I always loved coffee, especially my first cup in the morning... I had a half cup two weeks after surgery and it just tasted... "flat"... Now, I have one cup of tea in the morning... No more, and no coffee... It doesn't make me sick, I just don't much care for it...weird.

I didn't drink milk for several months, like you. Was able to reintroduce in small dosages about 4 months. Don't try drinking a glass but put a little in something you are drinking. If you get sick to your stomach maybe you are still intolerant.

But, there are some whom never get back to drinking the stuff.

Good luck!

I still have a problem with milk. Like you we are big milk drinkers in our family. For my husband and I, it was our drink of choice. We would go through 5 gallons of milk a week, 1%. After getting sleeved, I couldn't drink milk at all unless it was part of a Protein shake. Then I couldn't drink it at all so I switched soy then almond milk...not the same but at least it was something. I still can't drink it straight but I can have it in tea or coffee or to greek yogurt to thin it out or oatmeal or grits. But once a month I try a glass to see if I can handle it. Its been 9 month still no go but I am not giving up!

I used to have a problem with tuna but at 6 months I had no problem. My nut said that some people become intolerant to food on a temporary basis. That if something doesn't sit well to try again a week or two later.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
