We need more info to give better answers... How many calories do you eat, how much protine, etc. Are you taking a ppi? I take a ppi twice a day. Acid feels like hunger. If you arent on one..ask your doctor for it. I follow the 600 calorie/+60 prot/+64 oz fluid/-40 carbs plan. Doing this I dont feel hungry. I log and track my intake on my fitness pal. For me this works!

I was sleeved July 18, and just went through two weeks before this week of really being hungry. I was getting all my Protein and etc in, just hungry. I would try to drink a lot more and that really helped. I had awful thoughts of cheating, but didn't. All of a sudden this week on Tuesday I'm ok against and yesterday had to force myself to eat enough. Hopefully this hunger will pass for you too:)

Bananas have such a minimal amount of Protein as to not really even count. They are also a high glycemic food, which means that they digest quickly and almost immediately turn to glucose in your body. That means a quick spike in energy, but a quick loss of the benefits. You should also be taking a PPI. You can get a prescription like Protonix, or you can go to a drug store and get Prevacid or a similar substitute. This is not the same as a standard acid reducer as it acts on a different mechanism. I take a PPI 2x daily, though many only take them 1x.

Do you know how many grams of protein you are getting daily? Depending on your doctor or nutritionist, he/she may recommend between 40-80 grams per day. If you are getting below 40, you are losing muscle and probably literally starving to death.

Did you work with a nutritionist that provided any papers or guides?

You can read packages to find the nutritional information. There are a lot of web sites that have the information on other foods. Many of us use myfitnesspal.com to enter our foods and it automatically calculates grams of Protein, carbohydrates, fat, etc. for us. You may be interested in signing up for a free account there.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
