First Day Back To Work! Whew!

Recommended Posts

I'm almost 5 weeks post op and just went back to work today. I was so busy I was only able to get a Protein Drink and a baby bell cheese in after 10 hrs of work. I don't see an end in site of this craziness. Hurricane sandy has my company running in circles and I'm

Afraid I won't be able to get my Protein or Water in.

What kind of work do you do? I find that Protein Bars are helpful when things get crazy,

That is my biggest concern also...I work for the Red Cross and I know when I go back to work next week it will be hectic. I work 8 to 24 hour shift sometimes andI do not have set hours. There are day where I have to be at work at 3am and sometimes not til 4pm. Its CRAZY! But I enjoy my job, been there since I was 22. I am a supervisor, so I cant let my team see me sitting and taking a break when they havent had one yet. I am usually the last one to take a break, sometimes thats not til the end of the day when I am doing paperwork. We work in the field and not in a office, unless you are working at the blood center. I am super afraid that I will become dehydrated, I will try to get most of my Water intake in the morning, but It will be hard throughout the day. During pre op diet I would drink a Protein Shake, then a bottle of water when I woke up, then chug a bottle of water on the drive to work. Can't chug anymore! Sometimes,so it will be very hard to plan my meals too. I was so organized during my time off that now I am in panic mode and I have no idea of what to do next week for meals. AHHH!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
