What is my Malfunction! I'm not losing!

Recommended Posts

Hi Beachee,

It could be the medication you are on but it also could be that you are not getting enough calories in to lose based on your exercise program. If you are working out 4 or more times a week and burning at least 400 calories a workout than you are only getting in around 600 calories on those days.

Your body properly drops those same 3lbs on the days that you don't workout because your intake is more than what you are putting out there. I workout a lot (6 days a week) and when I didn't get in enough calories my body would hold onto that weight. The moment I got fustrated and would eat a lot more than I should, I would drop 7/8lbs in a matter of days.

Without the proper amount of Protein you will retain your weight. I hope all is well.

I take Effexor 75 mg daily and I don't drink any Protein drinks, I eat all my protein...

Hi,

I'm a mental health counselor and Effexor is NOTORIOUS for causing weight gain and difficulty to lose. Normally it causes people to feel hungry. Talk to your physician about trying a different anti-depressant. I know I would! The important thing is that you keep up the great cardio work and diet while you transition (if that's what your doc decides for you). Good Luck!!!

I dont know if this helps but I went on Effexor about 5 yrs ago and piled on the weight consistently till I got the band.

I have had my band for 18mths and I have only lost 80lbs. I am happy with that but it is so much slower than most others. I am pretty sure it is the Effexor. I have tried getting of it as my Dr said the time was right, but it is hell getting of the stuff.

is it possible to exercise too much????

i am so desperately sad and bummed and sad and sad and sad and sad. i will never lose weight no matter what i do.

went to see dr and he said i have NO symptoms of any health issue preventing me from weight loss. he will run total blood panel anyway but says i should see a dietician....

How about instead of telling us how many calories you eat...tell us exactly what you eat and at what time. Exactly what you do for exercise and at what intensity?

Maybe that would help us..help you. Jerry Maguire flashback. :nervous

Ya know the pill might cause weight gain...IF you overeat because of it....but if the facts are as presented....caloric intake of 1000 calories per day and rigorous exercise then that pill will not make you gain any weight other than maybe a couple lbs of Water weight. The regular weight should still come off easily.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
