Hello Everyone New On This Path To Greatness

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone...I'm a young 65 from Central Jersey. Being born a 12lb baby didn't help in this constant battle with weight. In my life I think only ten were....what I would consider....an acceptable weight. Due to certain circumstances I moved from my home in Northern Jersey to my niece's home here in Central Jersey. She is an OR RN in CentraState....spending many hours getting information from her I've finally decided to do the Sleeve. I have friends and other family members who have had the lapband successfully and a few not so successful, but for me I chosen the sleeve. I am following all the steps required for clearance..tentative date for surgery is Nov 29th

I've read and took notes on everything related to pre and post diets....read enough labels that I've become crossed-eyed ....and can honestly say I have no idea what I'll be consuming in about 2 weeks. :) The 2 words that

bring dread to my heart are "Sip and Chew" I have never in my life "Sipped or Chewed" I Gulp and Inhale.

I wish everyone on this site success....may we all reach our goals as painlessly as possible.

I agree it's definitely going to take some major lifestyle changes but it will be so worth it in the end! And hi to you and all the folks down there - I am in NNJ now but originally from the area you are in now. I miss it down there. Going to Fredo's in Freehold for a function soon.

I have to laugh at the gulp and inhale, that is soooooo me lol. And seems to be the hardest for me to do I catch myself still doing it although I've not had the surgery I'm trying to perfect it before. Heres to "sipping & chewing“, best of luck!

This is what scares me....the doubling over with gas. I've purchased straws for use outside my home and use childrens sippy cups at home....I keep telling myself not to rush. Thanks for the input!!

It does take practice. I'm not sure about the straws. Some Dr. say OK and mine says no due to extra air intake. Just try and see what works best for you. I am 6 days out and some times what I think a sip is may be a very minute gulp and I feel it.

Just work on it! And you will find what is best for you.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
