Anyone Have Any Complications Going To Mexico For Surgery

Recommended Posts

I had surgery in May in Tj with no complications. I went to Dr. Kelly. Unfortunately, I'm not paid for my testimony or it would help with my $200 monthly payments lol.

Just curious if anyone had any complications or words of wisdom they could pass on about having surgery in Mexico. I am planning to have my surgery in TJ first week of November and I am very nervous and scared of the unknown about having the surgery in Mexico. I wish I actually knew someone who had the surgery there. My husband thinks that there is a hoax and that everyone is posting good experiences about their surgeries because they are being paid too. I told him he was looney and crazy for thinking that. I just don't want to talk myself into not going thru with it.

Lol....I must be married to your brother-in-law because my husband thinks it

is a hoax also. I'm so happy I'm not the only one who has a skeptical spouse. When is your surgery date? Mine is 11/9 and my love will be traveling with me.

I had surgery in TJ with Dr Ariel Ortiz on 9/10. I am a nurse in a large academic medical center - I had a great experience. The physicians I encountered at OCC were leaps and bounds better (in skill and bedside manner) than the vast majority of surgeons at my facility I encounter on a daily basis. I wish I was paid for my praises!

I would recommend Dr Ortiz to anyone considering this surgery. It is not a hoax and I have no regrets

I think you will see more of the US patients with complications than Mexico patients. The Mexican surgeons have been doing this surgery longer. On that note I was sleeved by Dr. Kelly and I would do it over again 10,000 times. I am not being paid to say this. Actually I haven't spoken to him since my surgery. I should shoot him an email to tell him my progress :) a lot of Americans are misinformed about Medical Tourism. I'm glad I did my research and have no regrets!

I would like to mimic SexySlim. Unlike most US doctors, all of the doctors mentioned above have completed hundreds of bariatric surgeries. Their prices are absolutely absurd for the risks they (and we) endure. As long as you continue your due diligence, be forthcoming with your own medical background, and research your doctor, you will be fine.

Can I ask how much you paid?

I was sleeved on 8/02 in Piedras Negras by Dr. Alvarez. I had a wonderful surgery experience there. He is an awesome surgeon and I never felt at any time that we were in any danger. My husband traveled with me and we stayed in the same room at the hospital. I do not regret going to Mexico for surgery at all.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
