ARe you still taking pain meds and when did you stop taking them? If so then stop because they can slow down your digestive track and make it hard to get the gas out. The gas strips didn't work for me but I only took 1. Try drinking some Water. I ended up passing my gas by farting and burping.

The last time I took pain meds way as soon as I got home from the hospital on Thursday afternoon. Only thing I've taken for the pain is tylenol and gas x. It's really hard for me to get Water down, I get extremely nauseous. I am however getting my fluids. My kids are laughing at me because I've farted and burped so much. Still doesn't seem to get it out.

I had the worst gas pain ever! I used the gas x also with little relief. I also had gInger tea, it has anti-inflammatory properties it worked pretty well. I also had my kids pat my back and I used to pat my stomach gently. I also felt that using a heating pad helped relieve my pain as well. You're almost there. By day 4, I was feeling pretty awesome. Good luck!

Thank you very much! It's crazy, when I was d/c from the hospital I weighed 10 lbs more then on my surgery day. I'm assuming from all the fluids and gas they pump you full of. I got home on Thursday afternoon and as of today, Saturday, I still have 3 lbs to drop to get back to my surgery day weight. Here's hoping they go fast!

Gas and that thing they give you to drink after surgery were the worst part of the surgery.

You will lose them. I'm losing weight slowly, which I was upset about, but I guess it is better this way.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
