Hi I am very new to learning about the sleeve. I had the band done in about 2005, then had 2 revisions. Still no success. Debating on whether or not to go to the sleeve. My Drs of choice so far are Dr. Jay, Dr Kim or Dr Nick. Any preferences?

I have to have a hernia fixed, and will remove the band no matter which way I choose to go .

I had Dr Umbach in Las Vegas (Baby!). I was self-pay for $10,400 and was out-patient. He was awesome. I am 15 months post-op, at goal and still have excellent restriction. He also did a hiatal hernia repair on me. I had terrible reflux prior and haven't had one bout since surgery.

Highly recommend Umbach.

Where are you located? I am in Queens NY, and I used Dr Spencer Holover from NY Bariatric Group... Amazing group, amazing Dr. Nothing but praises.

I used Dr Frenzel, he and his staff were great. He is also board certified in plastics. I had a great experience. He has offices in Arlinton and Dallas. My cash price was $10,995.

I was sleeved August 28th by Dr. Nicholson and loved him. He has a wonderful bedside manner, cares about you as a person and a patient and doesn't push products! This is one of my pet peeves, when you go to a bariatric practice that makes you buy Vitamins, shakes, etc. from them. That tells me a lot about their focus (the bottom line$$).

The main thing that I loved about his practice is the follow-up care with the support groups. Dr. Jay Ashmore was formerly with Cooper Clinic and he runs a weekly and monthly support groups that are free. He is incredible and helping people understand what got them to become obese in the first place, but more importantly, what you can do to stop and be successful with your sleeve is the best part of this.

All 3 are skilled surgeons, but the proof is in the follow-up care to get you to your goal and then stay there for LIFE! Good luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
