This Pre Op Diet Is Killing Me. How Did U Cope?

Recommended Posts

I have a major headache and I'm far from hungry but I feel horrible. I'm not a sweet eater but EVERYTHING seems sweet! Any suggestions?

I had to do broth to get over that sweetness thing. I love sweets and it was too much for me. Hang in there. It doesn't last forever.

I'm a week post op. I am still on my liquid diet. I hope that will change tomorrow at my post op visit. I'll tell you, I am not a sweet eater at all. I did have a problem with the sweetness of EVERYTHING in the pre-op diet. NOTHING is savory. Maybe we need to do something about that. My Protein Shake tonight was really rough to take. I drank a lot of Water to counter-balance the sweetness of the shakes and crystal light. I did dilute the crystal light by 1/2, though. That sure helped.

My pre-op only allowed 1-8oz cup of broth a day. He really wanted us to be on an 800 calorie diet. It was tough for us non-sweet eaters.

Right, I'm only allowed 1 cup Low Sodium chicken broth a day and the smell turned me off when I opened the carton. Sice this is my second surgery, I can handke post-op, I just can't do all these sweets pre-op. :(

I bought the Unjury Protein chicken broth. It really helped to "eat" it at night so I felt like I was having a savory meal. It also gave me a chance to have something other than a sweet Protein Drink. I also added Decaf instant coffee to my chocolate Protein Drinks to take the sweet edge off.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
