My weight problem started I think the day I was born. Believe it or not, but at one point in my life I was a hungry skinny little kid. Came from a poor family where we fought the dog for the pork chop bone. Then I grew up and decided I would never be hungry again. And believe me, I never was. I ate and I ate and then I would panic and diet like crazy to take the weight off. Never had a problem taking off the weight, had a problem keeping it off. Then finally two years ago I decided to quit smoking (yes another bad habit I picked up along the way). Then I fell and injured my hip and exercise was out of the question and yes, the weight piled on. Went up to 240 pounds. Now that wouldn't have been so bad if I was 7 feet tall, but I am barely over 5 feet. I got sick and tired of being sick and tired and fat. So I started searching for help. I found Dr. Lopez-Ortega in Mexico, did my research and the rest they say is history.

I am only a week post op, but feeling absolutely wonderful. I actually haven't stepped on a scale yet, still have that fear inside me to do it, but my family says that I have definitely losing weight. My pants are actually falling off me and I can see a difference. I am not hungry at all, but follow the food plan Dr. Lopez-Ortega put me on. I don't think about food all the time they way I used to. I feel like a totally different person.

I am looking forward to my new body, my new way of looking at food and my new life. I wish that I had heard of this procedure years ago, it would have saved me years of heartache.

By the way, did I happen to mention that I am in my 60's. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks.

Oh Mary K I am so happy for you. I agree it is never to late to take back our lives. I was sleeved in Mexico with Dr Garcia on September 10th and it has been a great experience so far. I too am not hungry and am still on full liquids. In fact I really have no desire to eat anything. Good Luck in your journey!!

Congratulations!

I turned 50 last month...and you can teach an old dog new tricks...or atleast how to eat again. My journey with my sleeve has been the best thing I've ever ever ever done for myself. Congrats to you for taking the steps to a fitter, healthier, leaner YOU!

One Love.

I'm so glad that you are having a good outcome from your surgery. I am preop and also wish I would have started the whole process earlier, like maybe 18 lol. Enjoy your new life! Dee

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
