for some (like me) it goes away, but when you have no food in you, your tummy feels "empty"

for others they still feel hunger....all depends on your body...

My hubby use to eat my meals and now he's gained weight and his blood sugar is way out of control. :)

I realized today that I don't think about food all the time and I don't constantly feel hungry like I used to. It's a very calm feeling. I like it.

I was not hungry at all for about three months. Then I had very low hunger for months four, five, and six. Around six months, my hunger started retruning and now, nine months out, I am unfortunately, hungry often and eating healthy feels like dieting again. I'm at goal (a little below actually) and maintaining, but I'm not going to lie; it's harder. I was really hoping the ghrelin was gone for good and I wouldn't have the cravings and hunger, but they've returned.

If you keep track of when you get hungry you might be able to distinguish if it's physical hunger (when ghrelin sends signals to the hypothalamus to eat), sensory hunger (seeing/smelling food) and emotional hunger (eating because of a feeling or habit). The surgery removes most of the stomach which creates ghrelin, so I would see if maybe it's sensory or emotional hunger.

A lot of people talk about acid mimicing the feeling of hunger as well. I take a tums when I feel that fake hunger and it immediately goes away.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
