I was sleeved 8/22 and have had zero issues with food. I am eating less and losing weight but have not had one thing bother me. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm happy, don't get me wrong, just worried that I will ne able to eat anything I want and won't be as sucessful. Just curious I guess!

I had my sleeve on 9/12 and I just got put on puréed foods today because I am doing so well. I have not gotten sick, I have felt great since I left the hospital!!! I was thinking that too about hoping I still do well being able to tolerate stuff so well. Heck, right now I am earring puréed chili made with ground chicken and melted shredded cheese on top!!!!

I'm 9 weeks out and have had a similiar experience. The only issue I have is when I eat too much or too fast. I logged all my food during the first few weeks, but stopped for a stretch and that's when I began to worry about my ability to consume anything. Would this be my downfall in the long run? I was still losing weight, but I began to imagine a myriad of ways that I could screw the whole thing up. So, I started tracking my food again, this time using myfitnesspal.com (free, easy) and I now feel much more in control. Using a food tracker helps me monitor many more aspects of my diet than when I was just trying to keep track of protien in my head and avoid carbs. I'm now more conscious of sodium, Calcium and other important factors in my overall health. Will I always track my food? Probably not. Right now if my weekends are busy and I don't get a chance to log my food with my phone or laptop I don't sweat it.

Given that most of us have tried many times in the past to lose weight and failed, our capacity to doubt ourselves is enormous. Ignore the doubt. We can't trick ourselves into thinking we can't do this. :)

Hey girl we were done on the same day. I've been on soft foods for a few days. No problem going down. I still eat to fast sometimes so I'm trying to be careful with that. How are you feeling after or during eating?

Hey, I'm drinking ok most if the time but seems like everything I eat gets this stuck feeling for a few seconds & then goes away - I want that feeling gone - I want it to feel like I did before I got sleeved... Other then that my left side still hurts but those are my only 2 issues... Glad you are eating well...

When I drink a large sip of drink, I feel it going down to my stomach. I was sleeved 9/20 so I don't know if it's normal or not. Go see doc Wednesday and I'll ask.

I get that same "stuck" feeling too but mine can last up to 20-30 min. I think I'm taking too big of bites or eating too quickly. A few times I've puked up about a teaspoonful or 2 back up :/

Oh wow, I haven't thrown up or don't ever even feel like I want to-it just feels stuck for a few seconds & makes me lean forward & kind of pay my chest... It's so annoying - I hope it subsides for all of us soon...

My first few days post op I could feel everything too... Down the esophagus and into the stomach and through. It went away after a few days. I think it's normal (and kind of cool ;p)

I do not like cottage cheese. What would be something good to eat in its place?

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
