Aftercare for people banded in MX

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am considering doing my surgery in MX. Right now I am still researching. I want to see what doctors in my area or @ least NC that will do aftercare for people that did the procedure in MX.

I currently live in the Raleigh/Durham area.

Thanks!!

You can ask your surgeon in Mexico and they will give you a list of fill doctors that will fill Mexican Patients or at least Dr. Sanchez, in Monterrey did for me. You can also go to inamed's web site and they'll send you a list and you can go to fillcenters website. Hope this helps.

I spoke w/Dr. Ortiz' office and they said that Dr. Bauman will do aftercare for MX patients. I didn't see anyone listed in NC on the website. I think he's located in Concord. I will definitely give his office a call next week.

Hey Skyblu - I think the last time "the best me" called Dr Bauman they wouldn't give her a postive answer. She ended up using Dr Gonzolas. (I think that is name.) I am sure she will check in here soon. I will send her an email to let her know....she was banded in MX and lives in Charlotte.

Keep us posted...Good Luck!!!

Hey Skye!

Dr. Eduardo Gonzales

Surgical Weight Loss Center

1000 S. Paark Blvd.

Winston Salem, NC 27127

336-784-8299

Call his office for the latest prices. He'll happily see Mx bandsters. And he gives good fills. I haven't been filled in almost a year now, and have only had 2 (and one unfill) and I'm done with fills. Good luck!

Thanks for the heads up Kim! :)

Another consideration is the band type you have placed. Most will only fill an inamed lapband. I am still keeping an eye out for an american doc that will fill a french midband. Good Luck

Updated: Just wanted to let yal know that I finally spoke w/Dr. Gonzales' office. I had e-mailed them a while back, but they never responded. I called and spoke w/Lisa. She told me they would see patients banded in Mexico. The Dr. charges $250 for the fluro, the hospital charges $325, and there could be a possible reading fee of $86. So the totals anywhere from $575-$661.

I had no idea that it would cost this much. Most of the other quotes I saw on the board have been more reasonable.

Lisa also told me that the doctor will see you in the event of an infection or a problem. The dr will not remove or install bands. She was very helpful.

I will post rates if I am able to find anyone else. If anyone knows of any other doctors please let me know.

Thanks

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
