Two Weeks Out And Smack Into A Wall..

Recommended Posts

So I'm down roughly 30lbs from my pre-op weight and haven't budged since. I'm assuming this is normal as my body is figuring out that I'm not giving it the eleventy-billion calories I did before surgery and it's just playing catch-up. Am I right or should I be doing something different? I'm so far beyond frustrated right now I can't see straight.

Do a search on stall. This is very common at where you are at. The initial loss is fluids and now it is time for the fat to start burning. You are right where you are supposed to be at.

Just keep doing what you are supposed to be doing.

Thanks. I KNOW I'm not getting enough Protein in (it's rough!), so I thought that might have something to do with it.. but glad to know it's just a phase!

Nah, don't worry too much about the Protein at this point. You won't end up in the ER with an IV in your arm because of low Protein, but you will due to low liquids.

Increase your protein as best you can.

PdxMan is RIGHT!! Stalls happen to pretty much everyone and your first one usually hits around the 3 week post-op mark... You will start moving again.... Don't worry! :)

it is funny...30 lbs seems to be the norm...I've lost 29 lbs and haven't lost anything in two weeks. I am eating 300 - 600 calories so I know it is nothing I am doing. Just one of those things we have to go through.

There is no way I can go eating 600 calories and NOT lose....the scale will move. :D

Yep, I'm in the same boat. Just at 3 weeks out, and stalled at 25 lbs lost. But for some reason, I'm not stressed about it. I know that the scale will move again (why did that sound so ala Scarlett O'Hara?!) And I know that I'm not getting all of my Protein or fluids in, but am working on it everyday. It's a process and a journey...

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
