Ladies, Tom Question!

Recommended Posts

yes, mine went from being an irregular 33-40 day sometime more cycle....to being on the day 28 day cycle. I do seem to have a heavier period in the beggining of the cycle then before, but the length is the same. hope it gets better for you...probably all of the hormones that have been stored in your fat for all this time that is finally being released and reaking havoc with your body.....I'm sure it will get better! :)

I'm almost 6 weeks out, and started my period a week and half after surgery...and it hasnt stopped yet. It's super light, can wear panty liners. But very time I go to the bathroom, it's there. And I'm so freaking sick and tired of it!

It's most likely the change in hormones that's causing it to be irregular.

Yes, it really sucks. I've had my period now for 21 of the past 30 days now. Hoping it will stop eventually. Like I said, it's not my normal flow - but it's dark brown (TMI) like really old blood. So nasty. And eventually I would like to have relations with my hubby! :P

Mine is exactly the same. I got the implanon in march and hadn't had a single period since, until surgery, and I've been spotting on and off ever since.

Wish I was a dog and could have had a Spey while I was having my sleeve. Then I wouldn't have this problem.

Did anyone ask their surgeon about this? I'm going to call and ask Monday! This is crazy!

Yes, he sad it was normal. And that most women of nonmenopausal age have issues for 4-6 months or so before their bodies sop wiggling out and settle down. Hopefully it won't take that long!

I asked my general practitioner because I'm on contraceptive implant (never ever get my period anymore) and having lost weight quite rapidly pre-op I got a 9 day period, (very heavy and dark followed by very heavy and pink) and just felt so lethargic, got dizzy even sitting up- GP said it was probably related to the weight loss, shock to the system and all that, and that "sometimes the body just has to let it all out sometimes"... 9 days isn't "normal" but not necessarily life-threatening either. But I would consider getting a checkup because the last thing you want after wls is any Vitamin or mineral deficiencies... *peace*

SO glad I'm not alone. I read about all this pre op but never thought it'd be me LOL I was sleeved 9-14-12 so this is my first cycle since then... I was about a week late starting my period then it BARELY started then stopped completely for a day and I thought "oh cool that was easy". PSYCHE. Then it came back with a vengeance. It was like the period demons invaded my uterus. I have had god-awful cramps for a week and can't take my ibuprofen anymore.. oh and the PMS symptoms are horrible LOL yesterday I was sitting home alone and started crying for no reason then I decided that maybe I'm just lonely because I'm not married (and no kids) and was *THIS CLOSE* to calling an ex boyfriend!!! EEK. hahahahaha thank GOD I realized it was my brain under the influence of hormones and I snapped out of it and called one of my friends and she laughed her butt off. :P

I've never had such dramatic moods from hormones.. God help us all. I think maybe I just oughta stay in the confines of my home until this is over.. for public safety. LOL

Lol @ angelbaby!!! I've put my poor hubby on a roller coaster of emotions the last couple of months! Screaming crying for no reason, then super affectionate clingy at random! The worst thing is it doesn't even seem to coincide with TOM! I'm finally thinking if giving up my beloved implanon to try the copper iud to see if the hormones settle down! Implanon is most effective BC of all but after 8 years I don't really know my body and the weight loss is making it all even more crazy!!! Lol

Good luck all :D

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
