October 2006 Bandsters!

Recommended Posts

Jim, One of the things you said is one of the things I hear all the time. You said that you thought the Band ws going to be your answer. I hear that from a lot of people, that it's their cure for being overweight. I just look them straight in the eyes and tell them that they better go back to one of the informational meetings and start all over. They will tell you that this is a TOOL. I'm so glad that you are finding that out.

I use my tool 24 hours a day. It's one of the hardest struggles but with my tool I know that I will be a winner. I'm in this for the long haul. I've had some good talks with my Doc and he is so supportive. Not just of me but with all of his bandsters. We adore him.

I'm coming up on my 3 bandiversary and even though I have not reach the weight I wish I would be at, I'm happy with what I have lost. I love the compliments I get. The surprized looks on their faces when thay haven't seen me for awhile. My heart shines with pride. I had to renew my license last month and I was shocked when I saw my new picture. I just stared at it, not sure what happened to me.

Jim, I have faith in you, you have come a long way and I know you will complete your journey.

I too have not posted here in a while but I will from now on. Like you I can use all the support I can get. I hope that with everyone here that we can all support each other.

Have a great day.

KStar, congrats on the baby boy. What a treasure they can be.

I want a piece of that action. Jim preggers. How rich would he be??????

I do hope he comes back again, we might be able to help him by just showing him how we have been doing.

Life's tough but a whole lot better with the Band.

Hello Everyone,

So nice to see some familiar names. Kstar - congrats on the baby, what a blessing. I have "threebeauties" myself.

OK, so I posted a couple of weeks ago after being gone forever. I said I was getting back on track. Guess what, I haven't. I have gained back 20 of the 50 lbs I've lost. I am so pissed at myself I can't stand it. My pants that I had to belt to keep from falling down are now tight !!!!!!

I am totally unfilled right now and have been for months. I have an appt with my dr on Monday. I hope to get a small fill. I know I can do this. I would have given up a long time ago if I didn't.

I need the support of people who have been there and are there like all of you. Thanks for the great encouragement and advice !

Jimboss - where are you????

Threebeauties, why are you totally unfilled?

I got unfilled because I was breaking all the rules. Eating too much, too fast and all the wrong choices. I was actually pb'ing on purpose so that I could eat more. It was my decision to unfill. I felt that I needed a "break" from the band.

Today is my appt and plan to be back on track TODAY !!!!!

Chrispygal gave some great advice. I would love to hear any advice any of you success stories would like to share. I need all the help I can get.

Jimboss - please come back

I'm so happy to see my fellow October '06 bandsters still posting. I haven't been on here in a long time. I've been struggling to lose weight. I've slowly put on weight - I've gone from 177 to 183. At least I realize it though. I feel every ounce around my belly.

The last fill I had was early February. I got scared because my stomach was severly bruised and I haven't gone back since.

I need to exercise - I'm lazy and need to get motivated. This must be a milestone for us, huh? We need to get reenergized and refocus on being successful with this wonderful too.

Threebeauties, yes, i live down here in the Houston area, Thank you so much for your thoughts. I am okay, I was lucky, only lost power for several hours unlike some of my friends who are still without. Things are going slowly around here as far as cleanup, but they are going.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
