I got my shakes from costco the best I have tasted. Instead of regular broth I take chicken and rice Soup and strain it to get more flavor. Tried of won ton and regular broth.< /p>

Six weeks? Is there a reason you are on clear for so long? I think a discussion with your surgeon and NUT may be in order. I was climbing the walls after two weeks of full liquids. Hang in there girl. I always told myself during all the things that were hard and unpleasant (pre-op diet, liquid post-op, pureed post op) that it was just for a set amount of time. I would just keep busy with other things and the time would pass. It did. It will for you too. I would still have a conversation with your surgeon and NUT though to ask if you can have anything else!

I think that you must be mistaken. If you are having Protein shakes then you are on full liquids that can include:

shakes

puddings

Jello

yogurt

strained Soups

thin soupy cereals

Can't lie. 6 weeks would make me a very frustrated person. This is the most extreme post-op diet I've seen.

No mistake I'm on the same diet I was on before surgery and that was Clear Liquids. I asked him twice could I add anything the answer was no. :( I go back to my nut on Wednesday hopefully he will add eggs and cheeses.

Straight from clear liquids to eggs? ?? I think its full liquids then puree food/mushies then soft food and reg food.

I wouldn't think c lear liquids for 6 weeks was healthy enough. I haven't even heard of a pre op diet being clear liquids.

Who is your Dr and what city/state?

Do u have paperwork for your diet?

How are you feeling? I hope your doing okay, that just seems so extreme.

Your in my thoughts. Keep us updated on how ur doing!

I'm in Maryland, Dr. Cantor. I have papers that he gave me that still say clear liquids. I have no energy and no desire to drink anything. Forcing myself to finish one Protein drink a day. Not even sure if it will get better with other foods added. :(

Bless your heart!!! Order you some Unjury unflavored Protein Powder and their chicken Soup Protein powder. You can make a yummy broth and then the unflavored add to your crystal lights.

Try your absolute best, its temporary, its your time to heal your body.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
