Wish Me Strength!

Recommended Posts

My surgery is Aug 29th and I've been doing well on the pre-op liquid low carb diet. It hasn't been all liquid but I'm down 11lbs so far so I'll take it.

But tomorrow is my daughter's 3rd birthday and we're having a family party. I purposely ordered food so I didn't have to cook, and I got food I'm not wild about so I'm less tempted.

I'm dying to break into the potato chips, though. I admit it. GAAAAH

wish me luck :)

That's definitely good advice. You didnt come this far to be turned away now because of a daggon potato chip pumping up the liver LOL Safety comes first and you definitely want to have a safe procedure..later for those chips! LOL

Thanks you guys, you are right. I came this far, I'm not going to mess it up now.

Nobody in my family knows except my husband and cousin. I didn't even tell my best friend.

I know how that is, I just recently told my bestfriend.. she took it okay, she's just more worried about me than anything. She would be an excellent candidate for the op as well. And that's right, stay positive I know how hard that can be during this time but you can do it!

It's very eye-opening, this experience. My husband went to the store now, so here I am alone filling the pinata with candy. Normally I'd start eating the pieces I kept aside as soon as he was gone.

In fact, as soon as he left I went to the fridge to see what I could eat without police watching me. Then I remembered... I AM being held accountable for this. So I "snuck" a string cheese and some SF Jello.

Good healthy choice, it must have been hard with all that candy near you! Look how strong you are already having all that willpower - you can do this!! Before you know it the pre-op will be over and you'll be so proud of yourself for doing so well on it.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
