I had surgery Tuesday as well. I made the mistake of not setting my alarm to take my meds. When I woke up I was in so much pain it was all I could do to get off my bed! I have my alarm set now. I'm not making that mistake again

I am really sorry that you are in so much pain, You just had a major surgery and pain is normal. Please make sure that you walk, walk, walk and do not miss a dose of meds if you still need it. It gets better each day, but pain is normal at this point. If the pain is not less with proper medication and walking, you should call your surgeon, I hope you feel better soon.

I had to do this the first few nights home too. Sometimes it felt like I'd never feel better.

But I do! Hang in there - it will get better soon =)

Make sure you take your meds every 4-6 hrs as directed whether you need it or not, just to stay ahead of the pain. It gets better every day, I promise! The first few days home were the worst. Hang in there!!!!!

I was sleeved on Tuesday also, and I feel great. I don't have abdominal pain but I do have gas pain. It does get better with walking. I don't have a drain either, my doctor checks us for leaks via a contrast I had to drink in front of a doctor in the X-ray dept so he could see the path of that nasty stuff. Once I passed that test, I was given the green light to have a liquid diet. I'm home now and really don't know what to do with myself. I've never been one to relax...always something on my plate and being forced by my family to relax sucks! Ask me when I go back to work and I'm sure gonna wish I had one of these days back. Oh btw, what I do notice is I have jitters often. Do any of you have that?

I thought I was gonna die that 1st night & day, but it gets soooo much better, every day! U hang in there! Walk, sip sip sip, take ur meds every 4-6hrs, stay ahead of the pain, try to stay as hydrated as possible, & let people help you. I'm 16 days post-op & can't believe how far I've come! It took me 3 days before the 'what the hell have I done' phase was gone. Also, a really neat trick I used for getting up out of bed was have someone super tuck the bottom of my covers @ the foot of the bed, so I could use them to grab & pull myself up!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
