I never visit this site and I never post...I really wish I utilized it more but I have pretty much been "on my own" in this journey. Tomorrow I will be 3 months post-op and I'm really feeling weird about this whole situation.

Bigest question/reason for this post: Is it normal that I feel hungry a few hours after a "big" meal? I mean I ate a lot tonight, too much in fact that I actually vomited after (that doesnt happen often, so please dont think thats the underlying problem in this post)...but here I am about 2.5 hours later hungry...but I can't decide if I'm REALLY hungry or if its my bad habits creeping back in??

Another thought, I feel like I am already failing at this...I am around 30 lbs lost since surgery which isn't huge compared to other's numbers, but I was on the "smaller" side before surgery so my doctor said that I shouldnt expect to see the drastic numbers others do.

I guess I am looking for a little motivation/support/helping words. It's not fair for me to ask that of y'all when I have not been doing the same. I am going to make more of an effort to get on this site because I really talk to no one about this besides my closest family members...but they aren't going through this so it's not really all the support i need.

Ok that is my vent for now.

** just to hold myself accountable, I know why I'm not losing more, it is because I have not been exercising like i should.

Well, I get hungry after a few hours. Most people on here eat about 5 - 6 times a day. It may also just be acid which can mimic hunger (I take a PPI for this) or head hunger.

If you are only eating three times a day I would try adding in 2 small Snacks to see if that helps.

I actually eat 6 times a day because my day starts around 6 and ends around 12am or 1 am.

So I eat Breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, snack.

You should also try the acid reducers. Helped me a ton :)

I'm sorry your having trouble.

I just had my 1 month checkup and was told I'm supposed to eat every 2-3 hrs. Do you have access to a NUT?

30# is great...that is 10# a month!!!

You might be having issues with acid...a lot of discussions on this site how it simulates hunger.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
