My long love affair with my beloved coffee has come to an abrupt end! No warning, no signs, just over!!! Today was the second time, I tried to drink a cup of coffee, Decaf, but, it was really good! Well, it used to be:( It tasted like I don't know what, just nasty!!! Darn taste buds!!! Well, farewell my beloved, nothing but fond memories.....tears, tears, tears...........

Yeah, I feel the same way about diet coke. :( Miss my routine of a DC every morning. Then it just occurred to me that I can no longer have beer. I don't drink often but I don't drink liquor at all. :( Don't ever think about it until someone says No, No, no. then you want it.

thank you Jesus coffee still taste delicious to me... my favorite Protein Shake is nectar Cappaccino and yesterday I made ice-cream out of it mixed with almond milk.

Only thing I could not handle so far (day 14) was some of the pain medications they gave me liquid form of in the hospital. Just opted for the mild pain, the stuff made me gag.

So far, coffee is the first thing that has changed post sleeve! On that note, reese Peanut Butter cups, butter peacan ice cream, cheesecake, cadbury milk chocolate bars, etc., they had better change too, into the "just plain nasty" bin!!! Lol!!!

Best advice from my nurse was to use watered down grape juice to chase that nasty med taste.... It really worked :) I would have one med cup with meds in one hand and a med cup of grape juice in the other.

Try the Chike Protein iced coffee. It has 20g of Protein as well as caffeine and hits the spot for me. It does not have that "protein" taste or smell and goes down pretty easy.

I just got some Big Train in the mail. Sooo yummy! I tried the mocha and loved it. Can't have it for a while after surgery, but it'll be something to look forward to in the winter.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
